Can Keller ISD really split into 2 districts?

My kids are grown now, we no longer attend Keller ISD, but my tax money still goes there. I started attending school board meetings 2 decades ago. Even back in the early 2000s, there has always been a group of people who wanted to split Keller ISD into those who live in Keller proper, and those who live to the west. I remember one woman literally describing the families who live on the west side of the district as those people "on the other side of the tracks". There's a railway that runs along highway 377, west of those tracks is the part of Keller ISD that the snobs and Keller proper want to separate themselves from. It's been going on for decades, it's still going on today.
