Lust, Rayne, Jaina, Vex, Kira, Serah, Serana, Catherine, Abby, Kara Zor-El, MJ, Lois Lane and I think she's voiced Catwoman at least once, but I'm not 100% on that and many more I can't recall off the top of my head, but yea, not a year goes by where I don't hear her voice in something new. She has a more recognizable voice. I can usually tell when it's her in a role. But with Matt, I either have to look it up or hear it from someone else and it's like: Oh, shit, that was Matt Mercer? I didn't recognize him at all. Though, to be fair, I play a lot of World of Warcraft and Jaina is a frequently recurring character in that game, so I probably hear her voice more often than his. Edit: Oh, Kid Trunks ofc. Her very first role. How could I forget that one, lol.

Matt is incredibly talented. Most voice actors just can be easily recognized, it's always their voice coming through the character every time regardless of the character's personality, but not Matt... Matt just lends his skills to the character to be unique and it's really hard to tell it's him.

I disagree that it's frequently hard to tell it's him. Most of the time, it's pretty obvious that it's Matt. Minsc is the one role where he genuinely threw me for a loop, I had no idea it was him until I looked at the list of voice actors.

One of those voice actors you don't always recognize at first "viewing," so to speak, but that's cause he is such a varied talent. His voice is like water. Can be formed to whatever shape it needs to be for that character. Like, you'd never play Baldur's Gate 3 and hear Minsc then say "hey, is that Cassidy from Overwatch?" Lol. Incredible talent.

I remember when the first trailer for Tears of the Kingdom came out and so many people immediately clocked Matt as Ganondorf. I couldn't hear it at all. Now that I've binged most of Critical Role I can spot Matt's voice from a mile away no matter what role he's playing. All it took was listening to him play countless different characters across hundreds of hours 😂

IIRC, RE6 was also what led to the eventual birth of Critical Role. Liam was the voice director for RE6 and knowing how much of a D&D evangelist Matt was, asked him to DM a game for Liam's birthday. Then it just snowballed from there and now they've launched their own streaming service and are in the final leg of launching their own TTRPG system.

Holy crap! Matt was all of those characters. None of them sound similar to each other or Matt. That, that is the sign of an amazing voice actor. If I had to guess who voiced those character just by the sound of the voice, I wouldn't be able to tell you.
