Obviously men and women can be friends, but the catch is in the "Just Friends" part. No one's view about someone they know can stay the same their whole lifetime and it will fluctuate so when it comes to opposite gender friends, obviously one can be friends as they can with any other human being as long as their interests align, but the "Just Friends" part is near impossible as one will eventually have a fluctuation when it comes to sexual desires if they are attracted to opposite gender at all. Now, the degree to which their feelings are strong is what determines the future of their friendship/relationship.

Obviously any two people can be friends, the reason why it gets complicated is the possibility of a relationship. Same sex friendships amoung straight people dont have that issue. Its only when the possibility exist that it can become a concern. Its always a possibility, and the only way to keep that in check is through boundaries and clear communication. Now try having that, of course we are going to have people think men and woman cant be friends, its not easy, its possible though.

Honestly, most of the time it will develop into either one having feelings for the other. But there are exceptions such as those who have been friends since childhood or if the male/female friend is attracted to the same sex. Still, as a male getting together with someone like that imposes serious risks when it comes to arguments in the relationship, because at that moment there is always a high chance the male friend will take his chances.

This isn't a complicated question is just simple biology. My partner doesn't have any male "close" friends other than myself. Not because I'm controlling just because she sees me as her best friend - friendships are literally about attraction, not physical but through personality - you can't pretend there isn't some form of attraction there lmao. Problem is too and every guy here knows it, the moment there's a crack showing in a relationship any single guy is going to dive in deep the moment he gets the chance. Happened in school, happens in work. Its pretty sad tbh how poisonous some people's interactions can be. My mother had a friend who was unbelievably sweet and nice for years and years and then suddenly professed his love to her. When she rejected him he stalked her until my dad confronted him. its almost like humans are not capable of being perfect. Most people find it weird to think about having sex with their sister because they have grown up with them and also incest is frowned upon. I saw xQc at a grocery store in Quebec yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence’” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

People who say men and women can’t be friends are just hard coping, they should just be honest and say it’s a personal issue for them, they have an issue where they can’t treat people of the other gender as friends and not get romantically attached to them. I am not having those with male friends , so i can be more deeply connected with them as friends , with female friends , im always reminding myself that i shouldnt be too close , since it would seem strange for them , and for other people .

​@@erxan4163That's the whole reason my two closest friends were women. It is a deeper connection. With my guy friends, we tell each other how dumb the other is and make fun of each other for telling their girlfriend they love them, and we're just a lot more aggressive, with the girls, there's definitely still plenty of the same kind of joking around but there's also a more emotional friendship where we talk about things I'd never talk about with the guys. One of them lived with me for months and slept on my bed with me and nothing happened even once. I obviously didn't have a girlfriend at that time, that wouldn't go over well lol, but I had other women that met those needs, my friends aren't part of that. It's absolutely possible to be friends with women and not have any sexual tension, you just have to know what you want in the relationship.

We just emotionally value each other as friends and have no intention of changing that. Your assumption that the chick's I've hooked up with are the better options just doesn't make sense.

You also cant know if one of them wasnt interested in you , even if you weren't. The example you give is also not that common , most men have better male friends, that also works with women. Most people wont just sleep on a bed together , for them it would be weird. Your example seems like an exception from the rule , which males the rule even truer , since every rule has an exception
