About the VR version potentialy giving people heart attacks, here in Mexico we have the dotted garden spider, which is completely harmless and actually quite helpful in controling pests, but still kills a lot of elderly people just because it's big, fat and scary and really enjoys doorframes as anchors for it's webs.

to answer your question jane spiders run at you feet because there eyesight is poor and move so fast the world to them becomes a blur thats why the move so erratic darting from spot to spot as they stop every so often to get there bearings before running full speed,this is quite possible the primary reason arachnophobes react the way they do because there movement is so sudden and bizarre

IDK, the fact that the spiders can't hurt you at all kinda removes all potential fear from the game. (I know that could be said of any game since getting shot in Bioshock doesn't actually hurt you at all, but the simulation of danger is still important for fear to exist). Still had a great time watching you guys! I just don't see the challenge part of the challenge.

@@Gothic_Analogue I mean in a meta sense. Getting shot in the video game does not kill you, the actual person playing the game. You're never in any danger playing a videogame (unless you have epilepsy, a weak heart, blood clots, or some underlying medical condition) so unless you're playing competitively then there are never any real stakes to what you're doing and therefor no tension. However, the simulation of danger (hitpoints, game overs, loss of progress, fail states, resource costs, etc) can still make games feel tense even though it's all make believe. But this game has no simulation of danger (you can't die, get hurt, take damage, or lose) so there's no tension and therefor nothing to get scared at. So the challenge is pointless.

Just because you cannot be harmed does not remove fear from a creature that is scary to you. For anyone unafraid of spiders this game is completely not terrifying but for somebody like me or ellen it's terrifying. It also can be scary because jumpscares.
