I think it depends on how one is actually defining "sanity." A "sanity meter" isn't really measuring whether or not your ghost hunter character is going to end up needing to spend some time in counseling/self admitting (if anyone would believe them? Which calls into a whole other barrel of worms of whether or not walking into a psychologist's office and saying "I was very nearly murdered by a ghost and no that isn't a picture of my friend playing a practical joke" would make someone think you were truly delusional or not), the "sanity meter" is "how much BS/psychological terror can these characters endure before they completely breakdown and are non-functional in any number of various ways" (catatonic, repeating words of reassurance to convince themselves that the ghost isn't going to kill them, etc.). Usually I'm in agreement, like Outlast 1 taking place in the stereotypical "haunted by the patients/"""clients""" that used to be treated there" asylum, is a tired and inaccurate trope. But if you treat the ghosts as someone equivalent of an Eldritch Abomination that the human mind can parse but can't remotely understand… then a sanity meter makes a lot of sense. Y'know?

I have alot of creative challenges for Phasmophobia, one of them is the "Among us" Challenge: one member is secretly chosen to be the 'impostor hunter' who is trying to get the others killed by the ghost or get them to choose the wrong ghost by giving them false information or making it impossible to get evidence by hiding the devices. Rules: -hunters cannot communicate to each other while inside the house other than using the spirit box, they can only talk to each other while in the truck. -hunters can ONLY use the radio broadcast to call a "emergency meeting" to announce to everyone in the house they wish to speak to them in the truck, they only get 1 each.

We have our 'luddites' as well but considering we ended up with tough lockdowns because of our priminster and other states demanding we open borders before we we're ready to, safe to say they're not going to be doing that again. If we put the efforts in we should starve it off a little bit and not end up with too any again. We can focus on other issues (like bushfire season which has started early again this year)

TIPS: 1. You guys should defintely make sure to bring a lighter at all times and buy some candles. Candles can be lit and set down (on desks, chairs, etc) and they keep burning unless of course the ghost blows them out. They light up rooms and dont rely on electricity so they can be more reliable. A lot of maps already have candles there that you can pick up and place and light. The ones you buy are MUCH brighter though. 2. Voodoo dolls can be found only at farmhouses. Pick them up, drop them, and then take a picture as evidence for $. Do not remove it from the house as this can severely anger the ghost and make it hunt more often. 3. Head mounted cameras can be very useful for larger maps, they can detect ghost orbs, and have a night vision mode as well. They also dont take up hand space. They can be monitored in the truck. 4. Motion sensors! They can be set up in the hallways/doorways next to the ghost room and whoever is in the truck can actually track the movements of the ghost if it moves. However, other players (dead and alive) can also trigger the sensor too. But it can help track where the ghost is going. 5. PICTURES! Quickest and easiest way to get money. Take pics of basically everything. ANY evidence. Voodoo dolls, an active ouija board (set it on a table and take a pic, and if the ghost answers your question, take another pic for more evidence), footprints, fingerprints, dead bodies, etc. 6. Ouija boards can be nice but they can also be terrible. Using a ouija board has a 67% chance the ghost will respond but a 33% chance It will PISS the ghost off. If you're in the safety Prep phase and use a ouija board, your safety phase ends prematurely and puts you at risk of being hunted. 7. The EMF levels actually mean something! It tells you the ghosts activity! 2 means the ghost is interacting with an object, 3 means its throwing something, 4 means its manifesting, and 5 means 25% evidence. You can take a pic of each level of EMF readings for evidence! However, during a Hunt, the EMF can give away your location and tell the ghost where you are. You can place the EMF on the floor of the ghost room and it'll still detect. You can even place it in view of a video camera and observe it from the truck in safety. However pics taken on the monitor dont count as evidence, has to be in person. 8. Bone evidence can be found on every map! On bigger maps, it can be out in the open, but smaller maps it may be hidden under towels, carpets, etc. However finding it is worth it! You get money for the photo of the bone and for picking it up!
