HIGHLY-TRAINED protection dogs and six year olds don’t usually go together, but at Dark Dynasty K9s it’s part of daily life. Co-owners Marlon and Lisa Grennan have made protection training a big part of their two sons’ lives since they were toddlers. Now Jackson, six, is well on his way to following in his father’s footsteps and has recently started training with the biggest dogs at DDK: Hulk and Kobe. Marlon said: “Some families go fishing and things like that. We train dogs together. That’s what we do, that’s how we bond.” Jackson has been using the bite sleeve since he was two and is more than comfortable around Hulk and Kobe. He and his brother, Jordan, regularly work with the two giants of DDK, helping to keep the dogs’ protection abilities at their peak. Lisa said: “Jordan and Jackson are very different levels of training, but Jackson has been working with the dogs since he was a baby. We saw Jackson on the show with Hulk the second he got home from the hospital.” Jackson has been slowly working towards more intense training but thanks to Hulk’s awareness, the six-year-old has never come to harm or been out of his depth. Marlon said: “It’s just a testament to what a great dog Hulk is. When Jackson comes in it’s a whole different level of intensity and the dog absolutely understands what he’s doing - that that’s a little body. He’s just the best dog in the world. Your dog might be good but he’s not as good as my dog.”

​@@Ana-fm4op If you have this type of dogs solely as house pets, then yeah, the ears have absolutely no reason to be cropped. However, please consider that these specific dogs are working dogs, and that long flappy ears are fragile and likely to be damaged and cause pain to the dogs if they rip when they are adults, so cropping them early might spare them future discomfort.

Always liked this guy till now, soo many major problems with this. Hes really just teaching that dog its ok to attack kid and babies. And the dog might be gentle with his kids, but that doesnt mean it will be to one it doesnt know or if his kids reach teen years and start fighting with each other like me and my brothers used too... can see this ending sooo badly because ive seen the same thing before and it always ends bad sooner or later.

I don't think Kobe should be training with the children yet; his competitiveness and drive outweigh his respect for his owner, Kobe challanged Marlon which surprised me. If Marlon had any other dog on his arm, besides Hulk, there could have been a real serious incident here. Hulk is perfectly trained and has the utmost respect for Marlon and his family. After watching Marlon train for years my instinct tells me that he should pull Kobe aside for more one-on-one training. Marlon needs to revisit the basics; remind Kobe that no matter what he's feeling inside, Marlon is the pack leader and he is not allowed to react outside of his pack leader's commands!
