The crazy thing is, it’s not hyperbole with Milroe. The reality is he seems to play Great or terrible with very little in between. And this is game to game. It’s not just dumb fans overreacting. Milroe can play like the best player in the country one game and the next game he’ll be way below average. I think he’ll figure that out though. I’ll ride with Milroe, win or lose, that kid is a great ambassador for my program. Honestly it’s exciting because you never know what you’ll get. Hurts and Milroe were both players who started before they were ready out of necessity. Both won a lot of games and loved the university, and fans were AWFUL about both. Most of these fans now have selective memories about Hurts, itll be interesting to see if the same thing happens if Milroe ends up good in the NFL. The Milroe hate is the reason I stopped reading the message boards. It was ridiculous how over the top awful they were about him.

Coincidence that McLaughlin is doing better playing center when he doesn't have SEC caliber defensive tackles and linebackers ready to blow him up every snap? In regards to Milroe, allow me to retort. First of all, Luke, we shouldn't have needed the "gravedigger play" to beat Auburn. If he had played consistently well in that game it wouldn't and shouldn't have come down to that. Also, if it had, you have no reason to say Simpson couldn't have made the play. It is accepted that he is a better passer than Milroe, and he can escape pressure and is fast, he's proven that. Jimmy, I don't care what the NFL thinks about him. What I think is he could play QB for us for ten years and we would never win a national championship, ergo, he doesn't need to be our QB. Neither did Jalen Hurts, waiting to pull him for Tua cost us the SEC championship game that year because we lost to Auburn because he couldn't pass. I am happy for him that he went to Oklahoma and they taught him to pass and he now is a successful NFL QB. I hope the same for Milroe, I just wish he would go on and let Simpson play the bowl game to help us get ready for next year.

I don't agree with blaming all the losses on him. I blame coaching. I think with Grub , Milroe would have played better. Having an unsuccessful OC can affect your confidence. Jalen had more wins with Saban and he was less experienced. Jalen to me was Bama's scapegoat this year and it should have been pointed to the coaching staff.

@shoemakers_wife3913 Some folks have a calling on there lives and buck it all the time. I can speak for myself as well. Milroe is a good QB, he is not great. He has very slow reads in his progressions during the pass play that has plague him from the start. He lacks the anticipation of the wide receiver's breaks. This is his major fault and the Pros will not tolerate this action one bit. Success is based on the path of least resistance. Though he is a great running back his decision will only be his. Just hope he is done at Alabama. We need to move on.

Milroe has better passing skills than Hurts but unfortunately he is more turnover-prone which nullifies the advantage. Think of 2022 A&M, 2023 Texas, 2024 Tennessee, South Carolina, Vandy, & OU. Will additional reps fix this remains to be seen.
@ThaTrueShowtimeКүн бұрын
Majority of Milroe turnovers were because of his teammates not him
@Theseeker2024Күн бұрын
Yep, no teammates caused him to carry the ball like a loaf of bread, or caused him to not have pocket awareness or make quick decisions. Throwing to the wrong team isn't on the team all the time either, he was pressured true but that second pick @ Oklahoma was entirely on him. As well as his zero effort to tackle the defender 🙄
@ThaTrueShowtimeКүн бұрын
@ bro you just talking; 1st pick Oklahoma game was a bad executed 3 on 1 by his receivers, 3rd pick that game was his TE & RB getting demolished on a pass protection knocking him out as he stood tall in the pocket throwing the ball; 2nd pick was him making a pre snap read based on the alignment of the def with a OLB seeing the same thing he was seeing. Y’all talk about the lack of effort on the tackle but the way our defense was playing they would’ve scored it anyway. And I said MAJORITY of his turnovers were due to the bad performances of his teammates not him. The fumble he had against Auburn while running the ball was him; the 2 picks he threw at Tennessee was him; then 1 of the 2 picks he threw at SC was him the other was off the hands of Dippre who didn’t catch the ball with two hands on it. The 1 pick at Vandy was a drop pass by Ryan. The pick at Auburn was a drop pass by Bernard. All other fumbles were the bad play of his tackles leaving him exposed because they got they ass whooped in their 1 on 1 battles which they didn’t even put up a fight. You on here trying to make him seem like he was Carson Beck this year and it ain’t even close. And you can’t make quick decisions when you getting pressured and your receivers still have their backs towards you. Make it make sense. Yall don’t know football is a team game at all. When the team as a whole play like they played 1st half against GA Milroe easily would’ve won the heisman this year but WE as a TEAM WAS NOT CONSISTENT. which is due to a lot of different reasons not Milroe.
@jasonsaban388314 сағат бұрын
@@ThaTrueShowtime the Vandy pick Ryan was well-covered and E-man was all alone right behind him on the sideline. Milroe also had a costly fumble that you can blame on Pritchett but running past the line of scrimmage then throwing is a freshman mistake. I like the guy and appreciate all the positives but afraid he has reached his ceiling as a QB, at least at Bama. Oklahoma- the defense played well in 2nd half- both TDs were directly from INTs. Tennessee- defense played great 1st half. Milroe targeted Ryan 18 times this game. The behind the shoulder pick in end zone was way off & took 7 points or at minimum 3 off the board. Another play Ryan was wide open for an explosive but pass not catchable. South Carolina- another pick in end zone led to the collapse right before half; game didn’t have to be this close. The QB position needs to have more consistency for any team to be elite. Bama is no exception.
@ThaTrueShowtime10 сағат бұрын
@ no he wasn’t; E-man wasn’t even on the field on the vandy interception. And it wasn’t a clean pocket so he had to make a quick decision. Nobody was incredibly open; but on a 7-yd hitch route with your receiver having a step on the defender; Ryan Williams should’ve caught it for a first down. I played receiver. If it hit you in your hands you catch it, point blank period. And throwing it past the line of scrimmage he was just a hair past it when his receiver finally recognized the scrambling drill and broke his route open down the field. Can’t blame play a dude for wanting to make a big play. And still in that game threw 18/24 for 310 yds, a TD and rushed for a TD; Vandy game our defense lost us that not Milroe. Our TEAM as a whole wasn’t consistent. The first pick in SC on the deep crosser was a great play by the defender. You can tell he watched his film because we been scoring on that route combination the whole first half of the season. The giving them 12 pts before the 2nd half was all on coaching with bad time management. We were in the lead comfortably and didn’t need to be that aggressive. Tenn game he was pressured 26 times on 43 dropbacks with majority of those plays your receivers had their backs to you and if you only have 1.5 secs to make a decision Im going to the receiver who has the best ability to get open as quickly as possible. But Ryan is 17 yrs old and haven’t even had time to truly be developed into a top receiver in the nation. That Tenn fade route pick on the 3 yd line shouldn’t have been called to begin with anyway. But unfortunately that was part of the gameplan because we went back to it again on the opposite side when Ryan Williams actually ran the fade route which resulted in a TD. Yea he missed some throws due to his legs being tired/or banged up because his actual throwing mechanics were off and/or from him being hit all night long. We can’t blame him for any consistencies if our oline play inconsistent. The game of football is lost in the trenches first. Oklahoma game first play of the game we missed 2 blocking assignments; I mean literally didn’t touch the guy that would’ve been a big gain right out the gate. Not to mention we couldn’t block shit on the edge the whole game. Which was the same in Tenn. can’t count how many dropped passes we had from everybody from the TEs to the WRs.
