All patterns in nature might be describable using this mathematical theory. How did Alan Turing influence how we see the natural world?

Alan Turing's Patterns In Nature, And Beyond
www.wired.com/2011/02/turing-p...
"Once one starts to look, there seems to be no end to Turing patterns: their forms can be seen in weather systems, the distribution of vegetation across landscapes and even the constellations of galaxies."
How The Zebra Got Its Stripes, With Alan Turing
mosaicscience.com/story/how-ze...
"In 1952 a mathematician published a set of equations that tried to explain the patterns we see in nature, from the dappled stripes adorning the back of a zebra to the whorled leaves on a plant stem, or even the complex tucking and folding that turns a ball of cells into an organism. His name was Alan Turing."
How Alan Turing Cracked The Enigma Code
www.iwm.org.uk/history/how-ala...
"Turing's work during the Second World War was so crucial that Winston Churchill acknowledged his role, saying that Turing made the single biggest contribution to Allied victory. Who was Turing and what did he do that was so important?"

In plants it's called "phyllotactic patterns". Basically the geometric arrangements of leaves are gradually optimized to hold the most water, capture the most sunlight, etc. It's complex but it isn't magic.

Turing had no patience with homophobia - or any other form of idiocy. That's why he was so openly gay. Combine that with his notorious clumsiness and that he was experimenting with cyanide synthesis...and I think accidental death looks more likely than suicide.

Clearly, and unmistakably a genius of a man. Indeed, a mathematical visionary whom, also, happened to be a sexual human being longing to connect sexually with others. Just so happened to be men. He let the pressure, the hate, the shame, the ignorance, fear, and misguided notions, and persecution from others whom are no more than hypocrites incarnate push him to the point of suicide. What a waste. And, we still haven't learned our lesson. Obviously, this man, a human being like all of us, gave us insight into some deep places. It's too bad the rest of the world, even now, still lacks the insight to stop persecuting people for their preferences, in and out of the bedroom. It's hard not to hate humanity for such mind staggering, perpetuated ignorance. Wonder when it will finally end. The neanderthals that persecute others in this fashion are incapable of an original thought. Incapable of creativity. Incapable of understanding. Incapable of anything, truly, good, or beautiful. Gads, what a heartbreaking story this is.

Seriously. I wonder the same always. More shocking is even in this day and age, the queen had given an official pardon to Turing few years back. When in reality it's the queen who should be asking/begging for forgiveness at his grave for driving the man who saved England and the world to a large extent from Hitler, into committng suicide. I mean how could she even say that? The arrogance of stupid people with power always astonishes me.

John Smith for the purposes of a video game, the "DNA" doesn't have to program for all the dazzling varieties of cell functions and differentiation. if you played Spore before, all a game requires is super dumb-downed categories for very simplified characteristics. like, how many limbs, digits, upright or not, how many senses, sense organs, etc. that can be done and has already been done.

exactly why there are mathematical patterns like fractals and geometric symmetries everywhere. a simple example is the 3D shape of planets and stars: the oblate spheroid. why sphere? because gravity. why flattened? because spin. a simple 1-dimensional force can lead to a 3D effect which is more or less constant throughout the entire universe. with our foray into quantum mechanics, it wouldn't be a stretch to see such similar mathematical connections expressed biologically.

+Satchboy71 now that I think about it I think it's just the ratio at which the geometry or patterns can occur, anything that spirals or is symmetrical will always be a Fibonacci number. fingers =5 Fibonacci number. toes= 5 Fibonacci. arms legs head =5 which is also a Fibonacci number even the earth and the moon that's 2 which is a Fibonacci number even if you include the sun cause the earth moon and the sun are in a constant dance is still a finlbonacci number. plantes orbit in circles not perfect ones always but it its still symmetrical count the circle alone divide into twos its still a Fibonacci number haha maybe its a coincidence maybe I think to much

+Tyrantax. I believe the latest quantum physics experiments have proven what life is. But the why will never be answered. We now know life is not bound to matter. Matter is bound together by life. Life is energy. Even a single atom is self aware. The dark energy which forces the expansion of the universe is alive before it creates these world's through what most call a big bang.
