this is the worst 2 weeks I've ever witnessed for the last 6 years as a dispatcher....my advise to any owner operator or carrier has some type of dedicated run or consistent weekly loads DO NOT LOSE YOUR CUSTOMER NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS PM SERVICE, FAMILY OCCASION, what ever the reason just stick to your broker because the boards are crowded with disparate people willing to snatch a load for half the price they don't even try to squeeze for a Pennie

In my opinion, its about the lanes. You have to find lanes that work with your lifestyle, your home base, your ability to drive miles and your equipment. If you just say I wont run my truck for anything less than "x" there is a good chance your truck will be sitting often. Find a triangle of lanes that works for you and do the best you can. Dispatching is key, because your truck needs to roll to keep cash flowing, try to keep expenses down and minimize the risk. Alot of losses in trucking dont happen on the road, it happens in other places. Bad drivers, evil mechanics, bad factoring companies, shady brokers, bad equipment amd bad credit.
