same here, the new Polar's 'exilir' sensor is very bad. When you increase the running activity and push yourself to more than 160-165 beats, the hearts beats are all over the place. Really i cannot trust it. I think Polar is not listening to us. The problems is not only you, but is me, is the other guy, then the next one, and so on. Hey Rob! I've been following you for a while now and would like to use this comment to express my gratitude for your reviews. Really informative and fun to watch. (Personally, I would describe myself as a data geek). I am currently looking for a new chest strap and since I own a Garmin watch, I would like to purchase the chest strap from them (HRM Pro Plus). Unfortunately, I have not been able to find a dedicated review of this chest strap on your channel or a mention of it in one of your top picks ... Is there a specific reason for this? Personally, I would be very happy if you could test this chest strap and compare it against the H10 from Polar in the near future. It would also be great to evaluate the accuracy of the „manual lactate test“ that comes with the Garmin strap. Is there any way to reward you for your work? I've heard that when donating via superchat not that much of the money sent goes to the creator, so I'd like to "donate“ in another way. Have a nice evening and stay healthy! If you look in the forums you will see major issues with HR detection for FR 165, 265, 965, Fenix 7, Epix. Are there plans to retest these devices with recent firmware updates and see if the devices are now 10-20 beats of a HRM for even simple activites.

Not specifically related to this video but great content! It is really intereating to see all the data! I've gone through some of your videos and it is interesting that Apple manages to get proper readings on all different categories and at the same time you have to put that data into different 3rd party apps. They should do something advanced like the Garmin connect so you have one place to manage all. Side question, by any chance do you know a good recommendation for how to measure heart rate during Jiu Jitsu training? I saw on google a lot of people use chest straps but at the same time with this kind of physical activity where you use your body weight and need to be as tight on the opponent as possible, I wonder won't that be really uncomfortable..

Awesome idea! Yes, I have been playing with that idea :-)
@nrgyu45086 ай бұрын
@@TheQuantifiedScientist The SAME idea has popped up in my mind yesterday and I've being testing ;-) Inside of the wrist trying to position it on 3 ways to test : closer to the radial artery inside/up, closer to the ulnar artery inside/down, or in the middle between radial and ulnar (of course not reading those but just to visualise the position). You have to tighten more, and it's not comfortable when you work with the hand 'except if you type on your keyboard ;-) ) The accuracy is still not good, I've done some tests when I'm in rest, sitting, standing up, some steps etc....Something is really wrong with their FW/SW...when I'm sitting down at 58bmp...h10/v3 are at the same; standing up, h10 goes on 74bpm; the V3 goes down to 48bpm?! It makes me CRAZY. I sit down H10, goes immediately , of course, down to 67bpm; V3 goes up to 90bpm, while I'm already in my chair for 1min, needing 2-3min more to catch the real 67bpm as the h10 is...The WALKING is even worst, sometimes you can have H10 at 70bpm and the V3 at 110bpm; So changing Upside DOWN WILL NOT improve. On the right wrist position the problem is the algorithme. They gave to fire the product Manger! It really sucks as the FW/SW issue...try to walk up and down some stairs?! the sensor itself is able to found the real HR when it "locks" on it. But for example if it shows 60bmp, you want to start the session, and somehow it starts from 90bpm (instead of 60bpm that has been there 1s ago), yes it's possible that I don't know how, it will use the 90 as the reference, going up to 120 for the simple walk, so you'll be wrong for a while as you're on going...if you stop and it "locks" back on 60bpm as real (or as ecg shows), it will use 60 as the reference point and goes up to 70/80/90 max walking, not crazy 120 even 125bpm simple low pace walking...bravo Polar. they believe more IT engineer vs the sensor itself I suppose...

Hi ! Good question. I actually don't know since I didn't check the sleep tracking yet, but that is a good point. For some trackers this is needed, but others (e.g. Oura) don't have this. I also think it is more often scores that need to be calibrated (e.g. sleep score) and not the actual staging. It might matter if the age and sex are put in correctly

Hi Rob, I'm chronically ill and am looking for a device to accurately track my heart rate, blood oxygen levels, and sleep quality. The most important being heart rate. I am not active, but because of my condition almost anything can lead to an increase in heart rate and I need to be aware of it so I can take measures to calm down. I know you normally test the heart rate features based on some kind of activity like weight lifting and cycling, but what about just being at rest and then something like a video, movie, or conversation leading to increased heart rate? Would most of the devices you've reviewed be accurate in that way? I need it to be accurate in detecting spikes and rapid increases. I've watched all your Oura ring reviews but it seemed one of its weaknesses was heart rate tracking while taking part in activities. Do you know if it's accurate at tracking fluctuations for the circumstances I stated above? I don't want to wear a chest strap if possible, but I need accurate readings. I do not have an IPhone so those products won't work for me. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
