I have a Yorkie/shih-tzu mix and she met a Rottweiler when she was about 6/7 months old. She was less than ten pounds at the time, and the Rottie was easily over 100. I babysat the big boy for a week, and they were INSEPERABLE. The Rottie was so gentle with her and she spent the whole week in his mouth (playfully). I'm not even sure if he had met a small dog before, but he inherently knew to be gentle. Now my little girl goes crazy with excitement whenever she sees another Rottie. She misses her big boyfriend lmao

Crikey, I was on the edge on my seat during all the interactions LOL. All the dogs were so good but Kenai was just such a trooper as I know from my own personal experience that sometimes the older male dogs can get very territorial and you never quite know how they are going to react. You and Jess were both really relaxed and that set the scene for the dogs really well, Brave wee yorkie!
@TheRottyRanch
@TheRottyRanch 4 жыл бұрын
Right?! We even talked about that and Jess and I agreed that our energy the whole time had a lot to do with how well the interactions went! Kenai for sure gets the most wild around new dogs for sure!

My dad bought a morkie Maltese/Yorkie. I bought a knpv lined Dutch shepherd. A dog from hard line's. They are the exact same age. They are inseparable two and a half years later. She thinks she's a Dutch shepherd too. It's hilarious. He loves his little sister more than anything in the world. He's fully bite trained. He's just a gentle giant with her. They snuggle on the couch every day.

Awesome video, and absolutely beautiful dogs. Loved all three individual reactions, but irrespective of that, this video really proves what an amazing owner you are. Not only are your dogs 100% happy and content, but the way they react to your every little nuance and gesture is amazing, really well done and you should be proud of yourself :-) My favourite breed has always been Border Terriers, but Rotty's are quickly establishing themselves as my number 2 :-)

I loved the last interaction! Our lab mix (60+lbs) and our terrier mix (15lbs) love to play! I was waiting for your two to get the "zoomies" as we call it where they chase each other. It's funny to watch Grace run under Jaz and Jaz bow down so Grace can lick her ears. I love how well your dogs are trained and socialized. They appear to be completely comfortable with their own personalities and completely happy which you have obviously nurtured and didn't discourage while providing them with excellent training. I enjoyed this immensely!

Kenai was thrilled that Jack wanted to play with him. All of the dogs have such different personalities. Perhaps because of Kenai's age or something he read from Jack. Don't underestimate the language not heard between these dogs. The small breeds know how to handle the larger breeds more than most owners. These Rottweilers were well trained and had the utmost respect for their owner too. My Yorkie is the boss of the German Shepherd in this house. Not that the German Shepherd couldn't do her in... it's the body language between them. The bigger dog things she's small and the smaller dog thinks she's big 😂

No reason for tail docking! No reason what so ever, I've had rottweiler's all my life and they have always had there tails. Tail docking actually does harm to them long-term read up on it. I'm glad here in Australia it's illegal to dock tail's in all states.

@@TheRottyRanch nah you're wrong! Farm or no farm they are born with it and shouldn't be docked! You're benefits you mean not the dog's. Hi Collin, we have had Rotties for over 19 years, never had a problem. We also have a Jack Russel terrier, he used to stand under the girls and he'd be barking and they'd be leaning over the gate to kiss who ever was there. Our neighbours children were introduced as days old babies and we never had a problem. our Jack is ball obsessed and the children knew not to touch them but our girls( Tara and then Shaz) were never toy or food obsessed. As you say in your videos it is all about training and love.

I had a male miniature schnauzer and a female rottweiler and my Rottweiler followed my schnauzer everywhere. My schnauzer was the alfa male. And my Rottweiler was very protective of him.

I have owned 5 Rottweilers over the course of 35 years. They are my gentle giants. , The rott I have now has attacked my lab At least 3 times. I fine this so disturbing. They don’t have a problem eating from each others bowl or Laying next to each other on the couch. If the lab makes any kind of high pitched sacred noise the rott while attack. I know how you are feeling about your situation, Very sad to hear that. For what it’s worth I think you do a fabulous job taking care of your Rottweilers, tThey are beautiful, obedient and so well adapted to their lifestyle. You are a great Rottweiler dad and keep up the good work🎉

the third one went the best because he showed interest but still listien to you when you saw he was getting too amped up you would call his attention back to you which would help to calm him back down. You show good pack leadership skills.
