My prediction is Pereira wins via second round KO. 1. Whenever Smith used any footwork against Khalil, he was able to create distance and land successful punches on him. Not to mention it will be open stance which is very dangerous for both fighters since each one's killing blow shot is their lead hook, although KT follows his with a cross. Khalil throws his lead hook with a shotgun strategy whereas Poatan pulls the trigger on his with more of a sniper approach. Since AP is the more experienced KBer (and a top 5 all time KBer imo) I'm gonna bet on a AP stoppage in the 2nd or 3rd, but Khalil has a puncher's chance no doubt. It's a can't miss fight and one we badly need given the duds of late.

I think that undetectable calf kick from pereira will slow khalil immediately. He does that kick in close range and when there's about 3-4ft of range when he reads and times it right. If that debilitates him like his other opponents it'll always open up that left hook once his opponents become frustrated from the leg damage. But I'm a fan of both and I just want to see a banger! I don't care who wins this one. I enjoy both fighters and their styles. Khalil's power is just as punishing as pereira's but he has to sit on his strikes, whereas pereira's is more naturally powerful and he doesn't even have to land a clean one or throw a 100% power strike to inflict a KO. I don't like the way Khalil throws his left overhand and lead hook at a distance. Would love to see him set up the rear hand, and tighten the lead hand as well. Also would like to see him feint more. What it looks like is that Khalil is not comfortable leading the exchanges, but knows he needs to do something to draw out a reaction to counter, so he throws out these wild hooks or overhands with his arm completely extended, leaning way over his lead leg, because he feels like he can pull back before his opponent can counter. Just watching this fight, I would imagine that Pereira could find space for his lead hook by feinting his way into range and throwing the punch either as Khalil sets his feet for the lead overhand, or by pulling back and catching Khalil as he is pulling his right hand back.

i hope he can beat alex. it would be good to see alex get a tough fight. but heres the thing... smith isnt alex. smith is a lot less dangerous. all of smiths damage is wearable. just one of those nasty body punches from alex or straight right hands down the middle can ko. not including his legendary lead hook and knees. in the smith fight he could pace himself. and thats another critical factor. smith was a 3 round fight and alex will be a 5 round fight. and the pace will be much higher against alex with almost all shots being dangerous. idk it just seems like it will be a "levels" type fight to me but i hope im wrong. alex imo is the most dangerous guy in the ufc along with tom. all it takes is just one mistake and you are waking up in the hospital.
