I love this testimony because I'm surrounded by people who deny Christ and use the two most oft-cited excuses: 1) the Bible has been changed and is therefore untrustworthy, and 2) the world was created by a primordial soup "big bang" and therefore, there is no creator. Aside from using my beloved Apologetics, I've been looking for a scientific approach to the Bible explained in this way by a reputable and respected scientist. Thank you for this..praise the Lord Jesus and may God bless you..🙏✝️

Regarding the Bible's trustworthiness, many respected scholars and archaeologists affirm the historical reliability and textual integrity of the Bible. It has been meticulously preserved and transmitted across centuries with remarkable accuracy. For example, the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls confirmed the reliability of the Old Testament manuscripts. As for the origins of the universe, some scientists who are also Christians find harmony between the Big Bang theory and the Biblical account of creation. They point out that the Big Bang suggests the universe had a beginning, aligning with the concept of a Creator. One such scientist was Dr. John Polkinghorne, a physicist and Anglican priest who wrote extensively on science and religion, finding ways they complement each other rather than conflict. These conversations are great opportunities to share how faith and science can coexist. Faith in Jesus isn't contrary to reason; rather, it fulfills our deepest longing for truth and meaning. "For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities-his eternal power and divine nature-have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse." Real scientists won’t accept that you called the ‘big bang’ the ‘primordial soup’ To me, a complete believer in the Bible, you have to ask what does Genesis 1 teach. When writing for simple people, you don’t try to write science. The truth I extract is A. God created the world. B. He did it in stages over a period of time. C. He created plants and then animals D. Lastly He created Man E. Man was created in God’s image and likeness - meaning he had an immortal soul and was capable of reason and moral choices.

In reading the Bible you cannot expect every word to be true. Otherwise, in reading about ‘the circle of the earth’ you have to join the Flat Earth Society.

As a Catholic, I see no contradiction between science and the Bible. I read about the Big Bang and I rejoice that this is the moment God said, ‘Let there be light!’ When there were waters in the heavens - I think of clouds. When I think of ‘the waters beneath’ I think of the lava cooling and the hot seas forming. This is the primordial soup. Amino acids form which gather and became unicellular animals, whose life was given by God. Then by a series of creative acts by God, all the animals were formed. Yes, the creation of species was done by God’s hand. This is macro evolution. Micro evolution is when these species changed in time, through strong radioactivity. The theory of evolution does not deny God’s existence because God created all scientific laws! God created the process of evolution. And He created the Big Bang that released energy (light!) that transforms into matter - all the subatomic particles from small to large - that form the building blocks of the universe.

I watched this testimony with incredulity! The Bible is historical and teaches about God! But it is not a scientific book! Whatever the honourable Dr Ross wants to prove scientifically from the Bible collapses under reason. For starters, the first chapter of Genesis begins by telling you what happens on the First Day, second day … Now how do we count days when the sun was created on the fourth day? I am speaking as a 100% Catholic, Bible believer and Physics Honours graduate who taught religion and Physics to 12 Grade. And am proud that a Catholic priest whose academic discipline was astrophysics wrote a paper and published it when he discovered the Big Bang theory. Einstein called it the most beautiful concept of how the universe began. This priest’s name was Georges Lemaitre.

This question touches on one of the most challenging issues: the problem of suffering, especially when it involves innocent children. It's a profound and painful question that people of faith have wrestled with throughout history. From a Christian perspective, we believe in a God who is both all-powerful and all-loving. The existence of suffering, particularly the suffering of children, can seem to contradict the idea of a loving God. However, Christianity teaches that suffering entered the world through human disobedience and sin, not as a direct act of God's will. This doesn't mean God is indifferent; rather, God is deeply grieved by the suffering in the world. One key point to remember is that God gave humans free will. This freedom means that people can choose to do good or evil, and unfortunately, some choose to cause harm to others, including innocent children. The consequences of these choices sometimes lead to suffering. God's allowance of free will doesn't mean He approves of the evil; rather, it's an essential part of the complex world He created, where love can't exist without the freedom to choose. In the midst of suffering, Christianity points to the person of Jesus Christ, who Himself experienced profound suffering and injustice. He is seen as God's response to human suffering-entering into it, sharing in our pain, and ultimately providing hope through His resurrection. The Bible assures us that God is close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18) and promises a future where there will be no more pain or suffering (Revelation 21:4). While these answers may not take away the pain or answer the "why" fully, they offer a perspective of hope and a promise that God is with us in our suffering, working to bring good out of even the darkest situations. Christians are called to reflect God's love by acting to alleviate suffering and to be beacons of hope and light in a world that experiences too much darkness.@@Jack777760
