One thing funny about weed, when we smoke, we think we’re so smart and have some special unique insight that sober people don’t have. It’s an illusion. Pure sobriety gives the real unique insight.

Currently at 16 days off weed after 4 years of daily use. My anxiety was super high that first week, then I’ve experienced emotional breakdowns where I just start crying. It’s painful but I know it’s my emotions catching up with me. I’m learning a lot about myself. Weed numbed all that and I used it to avoid being bored and alone with my emotions.

I'm also currently 16 days off weed, but after 2 years of daily use. This is exactly what I've been going through, and the more I think about it the more I realize that I'm not as overwhelmed as I think. The pile of stressors is not as big as I thought. Some of it is stuff I already knew about but was just numb to, and the withdrawals have me in a bad headspace without the natural dopamine or seratonin to balance stuff out.

I feel it makes me dumb because it doesn’t make me chase the things that would add to my life intellectually. I remember being so smart as a kid and in school, and kind of got “used” to being called smart and took that for granted, as if it was something fixed. But now at 25 realizing many people around me wouldn’t agree that I’m smart. I have great deductive abilities and good memory. Not much beyond that right now 😅 5th day off weed. Read a book for PLEASURE for the first time in a while!!

I bumped into this channel by chance a few days ago and I've already binge-watched many videos. What to say? Simply illuminating, in every single video I feel understood and related to. I especially enjoyed the videos where Dr Frank talked about weed-induced psychosis. A very complex and controversial topic, but of which very little is said. I'd like to share the beginning of my healing journey with the community of this channel. I'm 26 and I had a terrifying psychotic episode in May 2022 (the first and last luckily). I had been smoking all night at a friend's house and while driving to take another friend home I started to feel "weird", but in an unsettling way. I tried to act as normal as possible while I was with my friend. As soon as I dropped him I started to feel "psychotic", no other word can describe that feeling better than this one. I couldn't stay inside my house, I felt the uncontrollable urge to go out. I went out to walk around the block and felt an overwhelming sense of anguish and terror. My heart started to pound as hell, my head was throbbing, and I felt "observed", both from above and from behind. My thoughts were like detached from my mind, I don't know how to describe it exactly, it was like they weren't mine. I didn't have any visual or auditory hallucinations, but I felt like I was literally going nuts in this paranoid/agitated state, and I feared to have a heart attack. I will never forget that fear to die. It is by far the most frightening experience I've ever had and it scarred me deeply. I came home, I looked straight in the mirror and told myself with brutal honesty "Okay, this is called drug addiction and you have it. It's time to stop escaping reality and start to call things by their true name. Either you quit smoking or you go to rehab." I quit smoking permanently in December 2022 (but I drastically reduced the consumption between May and December) and after 5 months of total sobriety I can state knowledgeably: weed is not harmless at all, it makes you miserable in so many ways and smoking it is not a vice, it's a drug addiction. Call things by their true name folks, it's essential in life. Sobriety gave me everything weed promised me for 10 years. I'm losing a bunch of "friends" during my healing journey and it's a blessing for me and my health. I've been going to therapy since January, I'm journaling, I'm working out at least 3 times a week, and I'm trying to educate myself as much as possible by reading books about mental health, generational trauma, Complex PTSD, and weed-induced mental issues. Thanks to therapy I'm slowly realizing that my addiction was my (unconscious) desperate attempt to soothe an unbearable psychic suffering by numbing me out. It was a maladaptive coping mechanism to a much deeper and older wound. I'm trying hard with the resources at my disposal and my willpower to build the life I want and deserve, one brick at a time. Greetings from Italy and keep it up Dr Frank, you're literally saving lives out there!

Im 16 and been using daily for 2-3 years. Its only been 3 days since i decided to quit. My speech and memory was worsening, i felt like ive lost my personality and i would often misinterpret things and i would feel so self conscious out in public while high. I keep thinking, maybe I could smoke and just quit in a few weeks or maybe i could just only smoke on the weekends. But i know im not disciplined enough to moderate my use. I have such big dreams for my future but weed was definitely making me doubt myself. At 13 i had a bf who was abusive and introduced me to weed. When I wind down I start having muscle spasms and I'm laying down at this point and so relaxed it's amazing. I don't feel any pain and I sleep the best ever since I was a teenager. Let me say this I'm not addicted to weed. I use it for medicinal purposes as a last resort. It takes me over a year to smoke a half ounce. I'm not into pain pills and this works for me. I don't judge anyone else because I ain't never walked in their shoes. I have severe pain sometimes and this 1000 percent helps me. I have friends from school that smoke allday and do dabs etc and this is their life 24/7 that's their life not mine.

studies show THC can linger in the body anywhere from 25 days to three months after marijuana use. I found it to be helpful, I hadn't suffered for CHS yet and was helping me. I can barely move after being stupid and contracting CHS not once but twice and it practically took my life. Exercise will greatly help you get your mind off things if not by bettering yourself then simply wearing yourself out to the point that you sleep instead of thinking about being stupid or at least in my case. I abused cannabis like no other and I had no idea it wasn't good for me until I smoked after quitting and getting a serious case of CHS. I cannot enjoy being high like I used to at all, not fun at all and I'm sorta glad because it means my brain fog will be over again soon and I can be a better person and man for my family that I should have been a LONG time ago.
