The "sin willfully" in Hebrews 10:26 is referring to the specific sin of apostasy which is set apart from all other willful sins that can be repented of.
In this video we will examine 1 Corinthians Chapter 5 to see an example of how someone within the church of Corinth who sinned willfully by fornicating with his father's wife could be restored through repentance. It helps us to see that salvation can be lost if we don't continue to live a repentant life, but it also helps us to see that we can repent of willful sin and be forgiven. Anyone who has believed that Hebrews 10:26 is referring to any general willful sin is mistaken. It is specifically referring to the willful sin of apostasy (Jewish Christians reverting to Judaism) when we examine the entire context. All other willful sins can be forgiven. So don't let Hebrews 10:26 steal the hope you can have in Jesus Christ. Obey the gospel (Acts 2:38) and be born again, living a repentant life empowered by the Holy Spirit.

What does it mean about apostasy? How can someone know if that is where they are at? Also, doesn’t that imply that this person would still be alive? Next question being, what about the verse that says so long as there is breath, there is hope? If anyone can help me understand, I will really appreciate it.

I've done a video in this series that focuses on the context of what apostasy is referring to and what it is not referring to according to Scripture. I encourage everyone studying this subject to watch this entire series in order so that one's questions can be answered from the Word of God and people's minds can be renewed with the truth from God's Word who are stuck in a place of hopelessness, fear, shame, and condemnation which are all tactics of the enemy. The Unforgivable Sin: Examining Context kzbin.info/aero/PLo_7oh9llbNZ2w8Jmtf_-GnX_UD6e6euX It is true that as long as there is breath that there is hope. God is merciful and long-suffering. Someone who apostatizes is someone who was genuinely born again who defiantly walks away from God while knowing better and without slipping or falling into sin. It's a total letting go of Jesus Christ as your means of salvation. My video on Hebrews 6 in the video series I just shared will help answer some of your questions on apostasy in context of Scripture. If someone feels sorrowful for a moment in life when they turned away from God or fell into sin then they haven't apostatized. Apostasy is living in a state of wilful defiance of what saved them when they were born again and turning away from that knowing that is the only way you can be saved. If one stays in that state then they have no hope of salvation since salvation only comes through Jesus Christ and a continual abiding in Him by faith. Let me know if you have any more questions after watching the entire series. Hope this helped.

What sin are you referring to that you have committed? Do you feel you have sinned while knowing it was wrong? If so, that isn’t being referred to in this passage regarding having no hope. Sinning wilfully in context here is referring to committing apostasy and my videos go into detail explaining what that consisted of back in the first century. Sinning wilfully can be forgiven as we see all throughout Scripture with King David being a perfect example, but he truly repented and found forgiveness. Someone who hasn’t yet truly been born again under the New Covenant by obeying the gospel as we read in Acts 2:38 can’t sin in this way anyway. Have you truly repented? Have you ever been baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins? Have you ever received the Holy Spirit and spoke in a language you’ve never learned as the Holy Spirit gave you the utterance? If not, you haven’t truly been born again and so there’s nothing that could keep you from receiving salvation in and through Jesus Christ by faith. You need to understand the gospel and obey it in faith. Get baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, not the titles Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Is all of this new to you? You aren’t without hope my friend. You can be forgiven of whatever it is you have done. But you need to hear and understand the full gospel the apostles preached and respond to it in faith. That is how you will be set free from bondage to sin and be able to live a life of victory in and through Jesus Christ. Acts 2:37-39 KJVS [37] Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? [38] Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. He’s calling you right now. He wants to set you free and take away this fear and condemnation you are experiencing. Let me know if I can be of help in any way. I don't believe you were ever born again to begin with. We can't be saved from our sins just by saying a few words. We must obey the gospel in order to be born again. We must be born of the water and the Spirit in order to be born again (John 3:3-5). The gospel is clearly laid out in the book of Acts when Peter preached it for the first time under the New Covenant on the day of Pentecost. When we obey the gospel in faith, that is when we are born again. Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. You need to understand more about the gospel of Jesus Christ as taught by the apostles, not as is popularly taught by modern day preachers who are basing their beliefs off of tradition instead of what God's Word actually says. I encourage you to watch my gospel series so you can understand about your need to repent and what true repentance is. You then need to understand that water baptism should take place in the name of Jesus Christ and when done in faith after repenting of your sins, that's where you receive remission of sins. You then need to receive the Holy Ghost which is evidenced by speaking in other tongues (a language you haver never learned). This is the biblical way that someone is born again and saved from sin and its consequences. Jesus came to save us from our sins, not in our sin. We need the Holy Spirit to live victorious lives. Many people, like myself, were told they receive the Holy Spirit automatically the minute they believe in Jesus. But this isn't what God's Word says. kzbin.info/aero/PLo_7oh9llbNZAqbRChaNccCdByN3i_E-e After watching and seeing what God's Word says about being born again, you feel God has spoken to you and tugging at your heart to walk in faith to the gospel, then you need to connect with other born again believers in your area who will baptize you in the name of Jesus Christ and pray with you to receive the Holy Spirit. I may be able to help you find people in your area to connect with. Let me know if you have any more questions.

This entire series explains how we need to understand this subject in context. Wilful sin is forgivable. The context of apostasy in Hebrews 6 and 10 is referring to born again Jews reverting to Judaism in defiance, knowing very well that by forsaking Jesus in that manner that they would be walking away from the only way to be saved. @@ShatteringFalseFoundations I believe if we truly repent there's no turning back to the same sin. But I feel I've never truly and genuinely asked for deliverance from that sin even after being saved. I've felt it's wrong each time I did it. something inside me was tempting me to do even more. I was baptized in the name of lord Jesus Christ. After that I accidentally fell into Satan's trap and committed that sin. I got completely helpless and in a quick of a moment I started to pray and ask for forgiveness after I committed that sin, I got guilty of committing that sin and asked myself why did I do it even after getting baptized. Last day during Church service, I repented and cried again and suddenly there was something trembling inside my stomach and chest. Some sort of feeling of vomiting. I don't know if there's some sort of curse of something that was given to me in food before I got saved. But today, I feel I got completely relieved from that sin. I'm learning to control my thoughts of flesh by the help of God from now on. And not fall into temptations of satan. Amen

I have a question too. Can a repented believer truly committ willful sin. Is every sin willful sin. And I wanna ask if every sin is willful sin to some extent, why do we fall into sin even though we are saved and baptized. Does that mean we fell into thoughts and feelings of flesh or temptations caused by the satan? I hope you'll answer my questions. Praise God!
@ShatteringFalseFoundations
@ShatteringFalseFoundations 4 ай бұрын
Praise the Lord that you were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ! That's awesome that you are learning how to control your thoughts by taking every thought captive and bringing them into subjection and obedience to Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 KJVS (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) [5] Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; Fleshly lusts and thoughts can be planted by the enemy. A thought in and of itself is not necessarily a sin. It becomes a sin when we act out on that thought or give room for that thought to reproduce in our mind to the point of lust. The enemy will often try to destroy us by thoughts and make us think that by a thought entering our mind that we have sinned. This is why we need to be able to speak the Word of God and take every thought captive. True repentance is a change of heart and mind and a turning to Jesus to save us from sin and empower us to live a godly life by the Spirit. After we are born again we can then choose to walk after the Spirit or the flesh. When we walk after the flesh we sin. When we walk after the Spirit we are more than conquerers through God's amazing grace (divine empowerment). Keep on trusting in and looking to Jesus who will give you grace for help in time of need (temptation). Go boldly before God's throne to receive help in time of need because of the blood of Jesus alone, not because of your own good works or lack of good works. Go boldly because of Jesus! Hebrews 4:14-16 KJVS Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. [15] For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. [16] Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. This video of mine may be of help to you in learning how to apply this understanding for victory over sin in your own life. Let me know how it helps. kzbin.info/www/bejne/j6LZeHient2Lp80 Not every sin is wilful. There are many sins that we do ignorantly. Even the apostle Paul talks about how he did many sinful things ignorantly. I do believe that a repentant believer can commit wilful sin, but I don't believe it would be the "sin wilfully" that Hebrews 6 is referring to. Most sins are committed with the person knowing they are wrong. Wilful sin can be forgiven, but ultimately one' heart needs to be submitted to Jesus and look to Him and depend on Him for victory like you are doing. We can't be of the mindset that we can keep on sinning and we will be forgiven. We must turn from our sin and look to Jesus for victory and growth unto full maturity in Christ. The Bible speaks of Jesus being our advocate (intercessor/comforter) even after we are born again who we can turn to "if we do sin." This is good news! But we need to truly repent and get the victory over our sin through Jesus Christ. Jesus died to save us from our sins. He didn't die to save us in our sins. God bless you in your walk with Jesus and your continued studies of the Word. 1 John 2:1 KJVS My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: Do the believers you fellowship with believe in the gifts of the Spirit? Do you speak in tongues? I never got an answer from you when I asked you previously. It's important that we are filled with the Holy Spirit and don't just think or assume we have been. The only way we can truly walk after the Spirit is if we have been filled with the Holy Spirit.

Your statement is a perfect example of how to wrongly divide the word of truth. We need to rightly divide the word of truth in order to not be deceived. 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. It is true that someone can be committing a sin while lacking the understanding that what they did was sinful (a perfect example is the apostle Paul persecuting Christians and how he did it ignorantly in unbelief - 1 Timothy 1:13). But it is also equally true that someone can sin willfully, knowing very well that what they are doing is a sin. Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, The word "willfully" means "voluntarily." People can also be willingly ignorant. Meaning that they can choose to ignore the truth. That is a sin. 2 Peter 3:5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: I could continue to list examples, which is why I put together an entire video series that this video is a part of that deals with this subject in great detail. Be sure to check it out and let me know your thoughts after hearing the entire matter. kzbin.info/aero/PLo_7oh9llbNZ2w8Jmtf_-GnX_UD6e6euX
