God calls you to repent. That needs to follow becoming conscious of your sins. You have to agree to say "no more" to anything that you know is not and was never "Okay" for God (all sin). God's love never means that He condones ongoing sin or will spare someone who goes on sinning, knowing right from wrong and keeping on choosing to do wrong. It's really black and white what God expects from each one of us who wants to live for Him. James 4:7-8 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. You need to repent to get your past sins forgiven and start fresh on a relationship with God that you will live in submission to Him out of love for Him. In other words, you need to love God back and be converted from being disobedient to God and sinning to being obedient to God and living a godly life as the grace of God empowers you to (Titus 2:11-14). When you sin, however grievous it may be, go to your secret place and with your mouth (normal conversational tone) confess your sin openly to God and ask His forgiveness and if it is the case that in reality you love a particular sin(s) that you keep falling into, face up to this in yourself and confess this fact with your mouth to the Lord (he will not beat you up and any such fears are from the Evil one) and ask not just for forgiveness but also for a work of God in your life to help you come to see that what may seem pleasant and attractive/seductive is really ugly and dark so that you ask the Lord to take it away (repentance). Don't try to see things as they are in your own strenght / mind's eye, you have to have a revelation from the HS as to how God sees things and when you do you'll want to be rid of them. If you have indulged in sins to a deep extent (especially sexual sins or sins with drugs or both) you may have to seek the Lord about these things more than once or even many times until you know you are clear and if the Lord delivers you will know that you are clear. Don't rely on your ability to control these things yourself in your own strength but be honest with God AND yourself about these things. When Jesus died on the Cross he deal with all of humanity's sin but He dealt with it not you and we all have to get to a place of honesty with ourselves as well as with God on all matters of morality/sin. He loves you and wants you to lean on Him and when you are tempted call to Him for help to flee but if you fall then do as I suggest above and restore the relationship with God and if you repeatedly fall into the same sin the be honest with yourself and God about this sin. If the truth is you love a particular sin(s) stop trying to overcome it in your own strenght but rather confess your love of the sin(s) to yourself and God - God can't deal with you (or anyone else) unless you are completely honest with Him and yourself as to anything(s) that plague you. I hope this helps and that you confess things to God and reject any condemnation that is from the Evil one and not from God. Conviction of sin by the HS is not condemnation - these are very different things.

Admittedly, this scripture had terrified me at various times in the past. I mean anxiety stricken hopelessness. I really appreciate this explanation. I hesitated to listen but I'm glad I did. Most of my struggle with the idea of the scripture was that I was relying on my own righteousness instead of Christ's. So it made the gospel a burden to me rather than a blessing. For me, I am drawn towards masterbation when I am stressed...I start thinking impure thoughts...I pray in the moment, but my impure thoughts take over. I try to resist, but the pressure and the desire get stronger in a short period of time. Overall, I hate myself. I feel like He doesn't want anything to do with me anymore. Sexual thoughts are on my mind a lot. In public, I actively avoid looking at women, because most of them wear hardly nothing. Nowadays, one can see everything...I don't mean to commit adultery with my eyes, but even a split-second of seeing a young lady in a mini-skirt or skin-tight leggings brings impure thoughts into my mind. I have been praying to Him to make me a wife, so that I may leave this sin, but I have still yet to find her (I need a wife to love and to hold). Yes, this is exactly my experience. It's 100% faith in him by which we are justified. Any transformation comes from him, by faith in him as our God and Saviour. We simply need to seek His presence daily, to be renewed daily. Spending time with him, fills my heart and mind with the word of God, with his Holy Spirit. It's simply spending time with Him, he blesses you and manifest himself to you and fills you with himself so that he radiates off of you more and more. This does not apply to those who are saved. This part of The Parable of the Sower refers to unbelievers. Why would God give the Holy Spirit and the promise of Salvation to those who repented to Christ, only to take it away once someone sins again? It´s not possible for us to be sin free. If you are saved and you look at a woman with lust, does that mean you lose your salvation? Of course not, you receive your salvation once you put your faith in Christ. If we lose it when we inevitably sin again, that means Jesus died for nothing. That doesn´t make sense.

The 4th group is the group that produces many fruit. This is the saved group. Here is some scripture that supports this . John 15:8. "This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples." Did you notice how the third group is the only one that produced any crop? all of our sin is willful. Because of our salvation, sin no longer has dominion over us-by God’s grace we are given the choice. I praise Him for His promise that He provides a way out when we suffer temptation, it’s on us to take that way He provides!! Such a wonderful display of His mercy and grace. My advice for when tempted is to not only recognize that our sin is why Christ Jesus had to be crucified, but to also focus on righteous things, and immediately go into prayer and the Word of God. His grace is sufficient, and all of our sins are payed for. Christ’s sacrifice is perfect and sufficient, and we are SEALED by the Holy Spirit of promise. Grace and peace to you all. And then understanding that we can then have joy and do some work for God as we deal with it via God. But we are always saved because God is faithful to those who believe on the Son.

That means if we are saved, we will want to do good works; not to gain salvation, but to show that Jesus has saved us. The Apostle Paul made it clear that even though "where sin did abound, grace did much more abound," he warned that we shouldn't sin more so that grace may abound. That is called lasciviousness. Getting saved is not simply a "Get Out of Hell" Card so you don't have to pay for what you've done. People who think that simply praying a little prayer and going about your day with no serious regard for sin are deceived and have false assurance of a faith they never possessed. The "Sinner's Prayer" does not automatically make you bound for Heaven; It's pretty much just talk. It's like saying you're an athlete, but your lifestyle is contradictory to it. Actions speak louder than words, and it's no different for the Christian faith. And I am guilty of being hypocritical to Christ, but He is merciful to all who will repent of their sins.

"sinning" here talks about the real sin of rejecting the Gospel. If we continue in that ultimate (the only unforgivable) sin, there is not going to be another cross event or sacrifice (Savior--O.T. sacrifices as foreshadow of). Does anyone really think anyone can avoid sin totally after salvation? And remember, David/Psalms says "Blessed is the man to whom God will NOT impute sin." Just how low is one's idea of the holiness of a perfect God? If one iota of one tiny sin were imputed to you, you'd be condemned forever. Sinning after salvation has another term -- backsliding. It's a 100% club for Christians, though we strive to do better, ... most of the time.

Lily of the Desert It’s not that you can achieve a sin free life. It is a Spirit led life that every true believer should live, that made him sanctified to God. There is a sin that leads to death, and there is a sin that leads not to death (1 John 5:16-17). For example, John said that “Whosoever is born of God doth not commit....and he cannot sin, because he is born of God”(1 John 3:9). Does that mean believers on Christ can never commit sin? No, because back in chapter 1:8, John had already made his argument, saying that “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us”. So, what does he mean by saying that born-again believers do not commit sin? The complete thought of 1 John 3:9 is in the Berean Study Bible, which says-“Anyone born of God *REFUSES TO PRACTICE SIN,* because God’s seed abides in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God”. That’s the exact thought. After you have been born-again in the Spirit, you must quit living a willful sinful lifestyle and live a sanctified life before God (see 2 Timothy 2:21 & John 15:2).

In 1 Corinthians 15:2 there is a caution about believing in vain.. I believed in vain my entire life until recently. I never actually heard or understood the gospel. I knew Christ died and rose but never had that heart circumcision. It was all head knowledge. I was only skimming the surface of what and why Christ did what He did. Once you fully get His great Love thru His sacrifice, the Holy Spirit resides within that person. I literally felt something lift off me when I fully understood. The church In my opinion needs to do a better job in explaining the what and why of what grace is all about so people get born again.. Circumcised in the heart.. @@Charlie-ys1ny Repentance is when you come into 100% agreement with God about how you are going to live: you turn away from sin out of love for God and you are ready to obey God in all. That implies being genuinely sorry about having sinned. So, after that, if you had that heart change, you can't look at sin the same way, let alone choose to sin even when you know something is a sin and displeases God. And that agreement with God in your heart about sinning versus following his ways is the key to forgiveness of sins and answered prayers as well (Isaiah 59:1-2, 1 Peter 3:12). Repentance is a starting point for no longer living in sin (Romans 6:1-7) because the grace of God comes to give you power over sin (Romans 6:14), so it is no longer the other way around (sin having power over you). You get "saved" from that. You understand that you have come to a point where Jesus has said this to you: "I do not condemn you, now go and don't sin anymore" (John 8:11). We get saved by faith, not with works of the law, but *not without works of faith.* That's in James 2. The Bible doesn't speak of just those works that don't matter for salvation, so when you read "works" you need to be sure of what the Bible is speaking about so you don't make the wrong conclusions. And also, obedience is absolutely necessary and that's what shows your faith in fact (Hebrews 5:9, Galatians 5:6, John 14:15, Luke 6:46, James 1:22). Yes, your own obedience to God shows your love for God. And you also understand repentance incorrectly and likewise being saved from sin (Matthew 1:21) and going on sinning don't add up. Believing that distorts the very sense of salvation. OK, I already see that you believe four things that the Bible does not actually teach. So, spend some time investigating these topics from what I have shared with you in my first reply and you will have satisfying answers. I don't promise other replies soon. It will take your time and effort to be in sync with God and not just go on believing teachings that are popular but false. Just be humble and God will lead you to the truth.

Thank you sir for a very clear explanation on this issue. Plain and simple. God wants all his people to believe and receive Christ as Lord and savior. After that, He wants us to move beyond this elementary teachings Hebrews 6:1 and be taken to maturity. Getting into heaven is no longer an issue if you truly become a child of God by faith in Christ whose heart is fully transformed and mind is being renewed for God. So many many Christian nowadays are deceived. We are not saved in order to get to Heaven. He saved us in order to bring back heaven into us and to be more like Him. It’s all about restoration. I have trouble with this video in that it almost makes it sound like salvation is dependant on me rather than Jesus and the Holy Spirit (e.g. if I never lose faith, if I'm just obedient enough, etc...). With this line of thinking no one's salvation is ever secure because what if someone falls away (doubts) and wilfully sins at the end of their life after having a lifelong relationship with Jesus? Does that mean they never knew Jesus? By no means! Rather I think the first thing is first "And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment." (Mark 12:30 KJV) So to me this emphasizes the relationship you have with God above all else. With that love obedience follows (If ye love me, keep my commandments. -John 14:15 KJV). So we know the first commandment (see above), the second commandment is: "And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these." (Mark 12:31 KJV). Again emphasizing the relationship. From these the fruit of the Spirit and appropriate works should follow. So what about one of the scariest passages in the Bible, "And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." (Matthew 7:23)? If you look at the passage before that, the many will proclaim their WORKS as their reason to go into heaven and mention nothing of their relationship. ("Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?" -Matthew 7:22 KJV) The point is this, the work of salvation is done, Jesus completed that at the cross, and the Father knew who He would save (those who accept Christ) and the moment we're saved the Holy Spirit lives inside us and will never depart (even when we sin). We respond to God's grace and yes we work out salvation with fear and trembling, but that doesn't mean we are responsible for making sure we were "really saved in the first place," rather it means we don't abuse God's grace because we love Him. If we truly believed and accepted Christ as our saviour and repented of our sins, would God withhold the Holy Spirit because He knows we might wilfully sin later? No. And if we, as believers, have the Holy Spirit and later sin, somehow losing our salvation would God send His Holy Spirit to dwell with us in hell? Of course not! (Verses to follow) When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. John 19:30 KJV Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. Ephesians 4:30, "And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption." Pretty much all sinning is willful. Many Christians struggle with certain sins that deep down they want to stop. It's still willful sinning. Those Christians are still sealed with the Holy Spirit. After reading Romans 1-5, Paul makes it crystal clear, objectively, that we're saved by grace apart from any works. Carnal thinking will perceive that as a license to sin. Paul immediately addresses that kind of thinking in Romans 6, where he makes it clear that grace is not a license to sin. But no amount of sinning, willful or otherwise, can change a believers' standing in Christ. To say otherwise makes the issue very subjective.

This is an excellent video. Even though I strongly believe you can't lose your salvation, I definitely understand why many people believe you can lose your salvation. Many people believe you can lose your salvation due to thinking that once saved always saved teaches that once you accept Christ in your heart, you're free to live your life any way you want and still go to heaven, but once saved always saved doesn't teach that. Once saved always saved doesn't mean that once you accept Christ in your heart, you can lie all the time, steal all the time, get high all the time, live your life any way you want, have affairs all the time, etc and still go to heaven. Some churches talk about how accepting Christ in your heart is the only way to heaven but never explain what accepting Christ in your heart really means, which causes people to be unintentionally deceived into thinking how accepting Christ in your heart by just mouthing the words saves someone. Accepting Christ in your heart by just mouthing the words without meaning it in your heart doesn't save someone. In order to be saved, you have to accept Christ in your heart and really mean it in your heart. 2 Corinthians 5:17 explains how if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation. When a person accepts Christ in their heart by just mouthing the words without meaning it in their heart, they don't become a new creation. When a person accepts Christ in their heart by mouthing the words and meaning it in their heart, they become a new creation. A person has to accept Christ in their heart and mean it in their heart in order to experience the positive changes that happen to someone when they become saved. When a person accepts Christ in their heart and means it in their heart, they experience positive changes in their life such as never living a lifestyle defined by sin anymore (they still sin, they are not perfect, they still have sin weaknesses, etc, but they never live a lifestyle defined by sin anymore), they want to live for the Lord, they want to obey the Bible, they want to serve God, they are going to persevere to the end (when the Bible talks about how Christians persevere to the end, it doesn't mean people can lose their salvation; it means how when you accept Christ and mean it in your heart, you will persevere to the end), they are not going to take advantage of grace, they are not going to sin so that grace can abound, they are never going to stop believing in Christ, etc. Those are the positive changes that happen to someone when they become saved, accept Christ in their heart and mean it in their heart, etc. When a person is truly saved, they are still going to sin, still going to make bad decisions in life, still going to have sin weaknesses, etc, but they are never going to live a lifestyle defined by sin anymore. Accepting Christ and really meaning it in your heart means you no longer want to live a lifestyle defined by sin anymore, you no longer want to live for the devil, you want to live for the Lord, you want to serve the Lord, you want Jesus in your heart to help you live for him, you don't want to take advantage of grace, you don't want to sin so that grace can abound, you want to repent, etc. Another argument I hear as to why some people think you can lose your salvation is the argument about people who call themselves ex-Christians. 1 John 2:19 explains how there's no such thing as an ex-Christian. If there's no such thing as an ex-Christian, it implies how you can't lose your salvation. When people say that they are ex-Christians, what they usually mean by that is they used to go to church, they used to believe in God, they used to believe in the Bible, they used to believe Jesus died on the cross, they used to be a fan of Christianity, etc, but none of those things make someone a Christian. Going to church, reading your Bible, believing in the Bible, believing the Bible is the Word of God, believing Jesus died on the cross, being a fan of Christianity, etc doesn't make someone a Christian. A Christian is someone who has accepted Christ in their heart and really meant it in their heart. Judas in the Bible was not an ex-Christian. Judas in the Bible never was a Christian. Judas sampled Christianity, gave Christianity a test drive, told other people about the gospel, was a fan of Christianity at one time, believed in the Bible at one time, went to church, went to Bible studies, etc, but Judas never committed himself to Jesus, and Judas never accepted Christ in his heart and meant it in his heart, which is why Judas was never a Christian.

Certainly does. But it’s highly misunderstood. It says “if we willfully sin”, not “if we sin”. There is a difference between sin and willfully sin. Otherwise it would simply day sin. The word “willfully” is extremely important. And the Greek meaning of this word is critical to understanding this truth. Look it up and check what I’m saying. The Greek word for this is “Hekousios” and it means spontaneously or without care. Basically, to live in sin without concern, conscience, or without conviction. “Willfully” can be replaced with “freely”. There is a sense of complete freedom to sin and live in sin without any care at all. This is because at this point the Holy Spirit is no longer able to reach or bring conviction to the heart. The conscience has been seared. This is what real “backsliding” is. Backsliding is not about simply living in sin for a time away from God. There is more to it than that. Because if the Holy Spirit is still able to convict your heart then you haven’t fully backslidden and you aren’t yet sinning free from conviction. You aren’t sinning freely. Once you sin free from the conviction of the Holy Spirit then there is nothing that can turn you back and there no longer remains a sacrifice for forgiveness. The very fact that a person is concerned about this verse (which is why the verse is discussed so much) reveals the godly fear and conviction of the heart.

The eternal security argument is simply this: Once you are saved, you can never lose your salvation. But in the event that you do, then you were never saved to begin with. So the claim is that fallen or apostate believer never actually existed so it is not possible for them to lose their salvation. "If indeed you continue in the faith" is a conditional statement for salvation and the continuity here refers to genuine faith only. In other words, Paul's statement is for the ones who possess genuine faith, NOT for those who don't. It shows the continuity of genuine faith is a requirement for salvation. The continuity can be lost and thus the warning from Paul here, as well as multiple warnings to true believers in Hebrews/Letters to Seven Churches/2 Peter 3:9.

We of course have free will, but if we pursue our faith, we find ourselves ever more capable of putting "old sins behind us", and as we do, we find more within ourselves, which we will desire to change, because we love God and care. "I sin daily" as Paul stated, is a powerful message, as he stated it, on his constant road to preach the gospel. Can we possibly expect to do better than Paul? I don't, and hope someday to approach his level of faith. "As long as we are disgusted with our sin, and turn away, even that we fall again, we live by faith. When or if we no longer are hurt by our sins, then we can walk away, but that means we never really were "His" in the first place. Something we have to divide are the things that are real sin from the things "we think' are sin, also the things the things that are righteous from the th things "we think" are righteous. This is very important because maybe it will not count now in front of people, but it will matter at the end when we appear before Jesus who will judge all men including us. So first we have to define sin, that is: "Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law." 1Jn 3:4 Sin is the transgression of the law of Moses, that's the meaning in context, so, we commit sin when we transgress the Law of God (Law of Moses). And we know that the most important thing is to obey God before men, because although He is our Father and Savior, he will also judge us according our works. How can we considered righteous by God? The Holy Spirit gave us a clear example with Zacharia and his wife Elisabeth: "And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless." Luc 1:6 Righteousness is not about how we see ourselves or how others see us, it is about our obedience to what God commands, because commandment does not mean suggestion, commandment means COMMAND. Jesus told us that if we hear but not obey we are foolish people, and we will end up ruined. "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. The expression contains the greek word "ANOMIA" from where we derive ANARCHY, that is the way of living in willful disobedience to the laws. Jesus was a Rabi, that means: A person trained in the law of Moses. So, those "workers of iniquity" are the ones who willingly or unwillingly live their lives without obeying God's commandments. Jesus Christ doesn't suggest us to obey Him, he DEMANDS obedience. And in this verse he commanded us to obey the law of God, if we do not obey his command he will tell us "depart from me, ye that work iniquity". How can we know that? The following verse clarifies what Jesus was trying to express: "Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it." Mat. 7:24-27. We must obey HIM, we willnot be judged by what we learn from our leader, we will judged by what Jesus commanded us to do, if we did or not. Of course that we are saved by faith, but faith without works is DEAD FAITH, and that kind of faith cannot save anybody. The "New Covenant" was profecied in several places of the bible, but was defined by Jeremiah: "Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more." Jeremiah 31:31-34. Is His Law (the Law of Moses) in our inward parts? Is His Law in our hearts? God gave us the Holy Spirit to have the want and the capacity to obey His commandments. God changes our heart of stone and gave us a heart of flesh, a "I want to obey" heart. Before Pentecost that had not happened, but now if we sincerelly believe in the God of Israel and in His Messiah, we will be drafted in Israel, and we will be given the Holy Spirit to be able to live according His commandments, and then ALL the promises of God are in Christ (who drafted us in Israel through His blood) YES AND AMEN! (We do not become part of the Jewish pople, we become part of Israel, His people, and Israel has 12 tribes, the Jewish people are one of them). A life of obedience to His commandments is a holy life, a life of desobedience to His commandments is a sinful life. It doesn't matter if we consider ourselves people of faith, we need to look to our fruits. Some people will say: "I am free, Jesus Christ obey for me, I don't have to do that..." Well, the willingful ignorance will not be a mitigating factor the judgement day. The Pharisees (most of them) tried replaced the Law of God with laws of men (Talmud, Mishna, Kabala, etc., more than 3000 extra commandments added to the Law of Moses that actually replace it, this is why Jesus told most of them HYPOCRITES). We also make some of that "play": God commanded "you will keep My Shabbath", but we say "Jesus was resurrected on sunday"; God said "do not eat pork", but we say: "I like pork and Jesus santified pork (an irrational comment on Peter's vision about Cornelius); etc, etc, etc. We must obey Jesus Christ, he will be our savior or our judge, and the one that will judge us is not a lamb anymore. You need to do as Paul instructs in 1 Corinthians 13:5 -- "Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?-unless indeed you fail to meet the test!" What is that test? Paul also tells us in Colossians 1:10 -- "...bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;". What is that fruit? "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law (Galatians 5:22-23)." Peter sheds more light in 2 Peter 1 -- "For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins. Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to confirm your calling and election, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall." So always be testing yourself to see if you are increasing in spiritual fruit. Am I more sanctified today than I was a year ago? Ten years ago? If you see fruit increasing, even if the increases are small, you pass the test! If you see no sign of fruit increasing, then what kind of tree are you? Repent! It's never too late. I thought I was a Christian for much of my life, but it took being confronted with my most serious ongoing sin, confessing it, getting counseling, repenting, and abandoning that my way of life in order to really know that I am saved. Though it was painful at the time, I am glad my sin was exposed so that I could repent and start to bear fruit. I now have no doubt as to my eternal status. Hope this helps.

God saves us by His Grace which is His unmerited favour towards sinners, through faith and that not of ourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works lest any one should boast. It is Christ who has shed His precious blood, first towards God for the full satisfaction of His wrath and for His glory - then God reaches out to us in Love and Grace. If God is satisfied with what Christ has done, why not you. If God gives you Eternal Life when you believe, how can you possibly be lost. When you are saved you become a new creation in Christ Jesus, the old man after the flesh is gone as far as God is concerned. That old man after Adam cannot be brought back in God's reckoning of you. You are still in a body of flesh and still prone to fail and sin, but Jesus Christ is our advocate with the Father and will restore us into fellowship with the Father. Fellowship can be broken, but the relationship of children can never be broken.

This teaching ties people up in exegetical knots. It is easier to understand that we accept Christ but fall away through sin or we accept Christ and persevere despite our sinfulness. We are given freedom to respond to grace or not. The Scriptures must be read in their whole context and not just put through the prism of one idea of one man who doubted his salvation and out of fear confected a way of assurance by claiming invincible justification. The whole chapter this verse is in is talking about Jesus being the last sacrifice that atoned for all sins and how there are no more sacrifices. The beginning of a Hebrews 10 talks about animal sacrifices that can no longer take away sins I encourage you to read Hebrews 10 and have a better understanding of what Hebrews 10:26 is saying. Hebrews 10:14 also says for by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified And please don’t accuse of being comfortable with sin, I get those responses all the time I hope you read Hebrews 10 to understand the meaning of the verse 26

The reason Scripture talks about our salvation with absolute 100% assurance is because God is absolutely faithful. However the other Scriptures that warn us to endure is because WE have the option to walk away from our salvation if we want to. God will never be unfaithful, but we have the option to choose against Him. Jude 1:12 talks about those who are twice dead. The only way to be twice dead is to be dead....brought to life...and then die again.

But at some point the Christian has to realize that he/she will never be free from sin in this life. This is no excuse to sin, but my enduring sin makes me look to my Savior all the more. Christ did not buy me with His blood to forsake me the moment I sinned again. The moment I put my faith in Him was the moment I was forgiven once and for all, so that nothing hinders my access to the Father. So this is with all who are truly his.

playkandle I am not saying God’s Grace is an excuse to sin. But to say that we are without sin is to call God a liar (1 John 1:8-10). Every Christian still commits sin, sometimes in ways we don’t even recognize. We are not saved by our good works, it is Christ that saves. The difference is that the Christian will produce good works as a fruit instead of it being the root of his salvation. That is why when you see a so-called Christian committing adultery or murder, it would be safe to say he does not know Christ, because he still loves his sin. But to say that in order to enter the kingdom of God you must never commit sin again is a lie and is a heresy. Because that implies we can get to heaven through doing good works instead of fully trusting in Christ’s sacrifice.

Hebrew 6:4-6 "For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance" You can turn away if you so wish. You can play with sin enough that your heart becomes so hardened that you're no longer able to repent. You no longer communicate with the Lord and become so self absorbed that you are the only one you see or feel, so repenting isn't within your scope. Unbelief takes root, it's as tangible as belief or faith. It will grip your heart in the opposite way to belief does, making you incapable of turning to the Lord in faith. There are too many warnings about playing with sin, too many warnings about falling away to accept this elaborate attempt at making scripture line up with ones personal perspective. Romans 11:17-21 "But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, although a wild olive shoot, were grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing root of the olive tree, do not be arrogant toward the branches. If you are, remember it is not you who support the root, but the root that supports you. Then you will say, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.” That is true. They were broken off because of their unbelief, but you stand fast through faith. So do not become proud, but fear. For if God did not spare the natural branches, neither will he spare you". A danger of the doctrine in the video is it makes the young and weak in the faith question their salvation at all. It's fills them with despondency when they stumble in their walk. If you have accepted the Lord as your saviour YOU ARE SAVED. No questions asked. No case of 10 years down the road, going through a bad patch and thinking "was I ever saved!!??". Horrible doctrine. Cling to the Lord and "work out your salvation with fear and trembling" as we're instructed to. A bruised reed He will not break, a smoldering wick He will not snuff out". But persevere. If you fall, get up quickly. Dive into the word and learn how He is your salvation and everything you need to ensure you endure to the end. Be honest with Him, tell Him your doubts and fears, He won't be angry, He knows them already, and let Him deal with them in you. Feeling weak isn't a sin, turning to sin when you feel weak is. Bring your weakness to the Lord. But don't play with sin, it will harden you and it will make you fall away from the Lord as scripture warns us.

Hebrews is a book written to Jewish Christians about Jesus being the ultimate sacrifice, thes Jewish believers were being persecuted by other Jews who were not believers and because of persecution they were contemplating returning to the animal sacrifices. the willful sin in its context is rejecting Christ and returning to the law and the animal sacrifices. All sin is willful. Sin has been dealt with at the cross, what we lack is glory, the adoption (the redemption of the body, we have the spirit of adoption now.

If He will not cast out those who come to Him, and He says His Father's will is that Jesus should lose none of them, it cannot be that people lose their salvation. However, given the following verses, I don't think this is the correct interpretation of John 6:37-40... I provide an alternate interpretation at the end. And how is Jesus made a liar by this? Also, I think we would have to delve into the meaning of "willingly." Going back to that first verse... Hebrews 10:29 tells us that Hebrews 10:26 ("for if we sin willingly after receiving knowledge") is talking about someone who had already been sanctified. Hebrews 10:29 [29]how much more, do you think, someone would deserve worse punishments, if he has tread upon the Son of God, and has treated the blood of the testament, by which he was sanctified, as unclean, and has acted with disgrace toward the Spirit of grace? Then Hebrews 6:4-6 talks about those who have already been made partakers of the Spirit falling away. Romans 11:21-23 and John 15 talk about branches being cut off by the Father for not remaining in belief/abiding in Jesus by following Jesus' command to love. Romans 11:23 even talks about grafting them on "again." Mt 18:23-35 talks about forgiveness being revoked. Luke 15:11-32 talks about someone who was a son, then became lost and died, then came back again and was revived. Luke 15:4-6 talks about one of Jesus' sheep being lost, then being found again, after repenting of their sin. Therefore, the interpretation I would put forward for John 6:37-40, in light of especially Luke 15:4-6 and Luke 15:11-32 is this... That all those that *_"come to Him"_* Jesus will not *_cast out_* . However, that does not mean sheep and sons do not *_leave_* , become lost, and die of their own accord (then come back, are found, and are revived). And in terms of the Father's will that Jesus should lose none of the sheep... This is a "will of desire." The Father desires that Jesus should lose none of His sheep. There is precedence for this understanding in 1 Tim 2:3-4. God wills that all men be saved. Yet not everyone will be saved. He desires that, but it doesn't mean it will happen. The Greek words for "wills" in 1 Tim 2:4 and "will" in John 6:40 are from the same Greek root.

It's talking about the deliberate sin of going to old testament sacrifices instead of Christ for salvation. All of Hebrews the only sin really mentioned is deliberate turning to the law for salvation and not Christ. It's addressing the same issue when Paul said "if you accept circumcision Christ will be of no value to you". Hebrews is written to Jews struggling with turning from sacrifices for salvation to Christ the only way to be saved and the only true sacrifice.

Paul challenged Peter of hypocricy, fear and dissimulation in Gal.2:11 - 18. Peter, the 'head of the church', falling into the sin of hypocricy and dissimulation in the moment of fear?
