We just hit 9000 subscribers, so we need to check Machamp's power level. But to push it over its limits, we add Meditate, Rolling Kick, and Ice Punch as Gen 2 Egg Moves to this Gen 2 tradeback Machamp!

-Minus 0.1 points per reset (10 resets = 1 point)
-Minus 0.25 points per optional battle (4 optional battles = 1 point)

-Minus 10 points per Broken TM (Double Team, Substitute, Mimic, Rest, Bide, Toxic)

Process:
Every Pokemon goes through 3 separate tests:
1. Minimum Battles
2. No TMs
3. Optimization for score on the tier-list
Standard Rules:
1. 0 DVs/ 0 IVs (Worst Possible Stats).
2. No Items in Battle.
3. No Stat Boosting Vitamins (HP Up, Carbos, Iron, Calcium, Protein).
4. No other Pokemon in battle (HM Mules allowed outside of battle).
5. Timer STARTS when I select New Game, and ENDS when the Champion is defeated.
6. Required Battles are the 65 battles that cannot be avoided without glitches (See Jrose11's original Minimum Battles video.
7. Pokedoll Glitch is a glitch and therefore banned.
8. Brock Through Walls is banned.
9. Badge Boost Glitch is allowed without restrictions.
10. Save states for routing and catching HM Pokemon only.
11. No wild encounters, except to catch HM Pokemon.

This is wild hey!! Love it I've played a few new 3d gens, but I really love the 2d design for Pokemon. That being said I really like the 2d establishing shots, the fire red etc games provide, when transitioning between areas.

Addressing your gratefulness to your viewers, I mostly enjoy your GSC content (because I personally like gem 2 a lot more than gen 1), but I really like your style on both channels. The thing that separates you from the other solo runners like Scott' Thoughts and JRose is that you don't have an emphasis on time in your challenges. You more focus on theoretical challenges like minimum battles, which I find to suit Pokemon as a game better than a speedrun challenge. The point system you use really makes for a better scoring system because it isn't as dependent on possible routing mistakes or rng wasting time. I also like how engaged you are with your community. I know you read and respond to basically every comment, and I appreciate that (I know the bigger channels can't really do that because once you get to a certain size it is impossible). Thanks for being a great content creator, and taking the time to listen to the feedback and input of your community.

Yeah, I've gotten a bit sidetracked, but I think there are still opportunities. Some might need egg moves to do it without TMs, which is a kind of grey area, but it's always fun trying TM-less runs

Machamp feels like he's been kind of overlooked over the years. He got some love with a Gigantamax form in Gen 8 but he's otherwise been very second fiddle to Alakazam. Still, he can clearly do some stuff, judging by this run, if he's just given the right opportunities. BBG makes an enormous difference yet again. And disobedience didn't really hurt as much as some previous runs - perhaps because Machamp is hardier than a lot of the tradeback mons you've used previously.

Minimum battles is about minimum of EXP. Using a trade mon with Bonus EXP is kinda cheap. On the other Hand disobedience gives its own spin on this run.

I agree. I went for the trade Mon style here because 1) He's meant to have a power level over 9000, and 2) it's my general rule when adding egg moves since they aren't legal in Gen 1

The infamous DBZ hackrom is cool but it's absolutely broken, especially for a solo run. It's basically playing Fire Red but: - Basically everyone has a different flavor of Blaziken that can have Mewtwo kind of stats - Types doesn't matter outside stab and dark type - Fighters are either garbage or a various degree of strong - Everyone that matter learns 100+ damage stab moves

I don't know if you are to high of a level the disobedience will make your mon just kill itself

@@jjquinn295 If you are frozen, the enemy can't inflict damage to itself, and you don't use items in battle, you will lose 100%. Obviously if you do use items it isn't an issue, but I never use them.

The biggest tip I've seen from a larger channel is to not blast the "send to subscribers" button. If you do that and they don't watch it pushes you down the algorithm.

The water encounters and land encounters are on different memory addresses, and for whatever reason setting water encounters to 0 doesn't work.

i noticed you set up meditate 6x, but then would use karate chop if rolling kick was going to be not very effective. You shouldn't be doing this because when you crit with karate chop it ignores the meditate buffs and badge boost glitches. You'd do much more damage with rolling kick even if it's not very effective.

It's in the scoring on the lower right. It keeps showing an optional battle when I fight a trainer that isn't in Yellow, but resetting takes them off in my current overlay implementation. It's purely an issue with my overlay, not the game

Yeah, there are two versions of the patch, one just changes the overworld, the other changes the Pokemon sprites. Personally, I like to keep the sprites as-is

In the rival 6 fight you had 4 meditates, shouldn't a 135 power rolling kick oneshot the Gyarados? I feel like you underutilised stab moves in this run.

Rolling Kick is resisted there, though, so I don't think it would have OHKOed Gyarados, but I could be wrong.

@@RBYPokemonChallenges Yeah I think you need 5 or 6 meditates with badgeboosts to get the onehit, but 800+ attack and a not very effective 135 power move is certainly doing more damage than a 75 power normal effective move working on 300+ special.

Yeah, I like to keep it somewhat authentic, so when I use Egg Moves or tradeback moves, I as a rule go with boosted EXP but also disobedience. It really wasn't terrible in this one.
