Im in zone 9. Can i still my leave my propagation tray outdoor if temperature is over 30 degrees? Also, if Echeverria is supposedly dormant during winter, can I still do propagate them? Thank you.

Hopefully I’ll get an answer soon. Thank you

Its best to keep them indoors in a warm place with lots of sunlight. Because its indoors it won't have a true dormancy and can still be propagated :)

Yes! These will likely do well as long as they're in a well draining soil. You may need to keep them out of the rain if it lasts for more than a few days. See here for watering details: succulentsandsunshine.com/yt-watering

@Succulentsandsunshine4 жыл бұрын
They won't reach a true dormancy when grown indoors. You can water whenever the soil is completely dry.

Hello! Great video! I live in zone 5 and i have some pretty big euphorbias,ingens,trigona, etc ,around 23 different types of euphorbias Rn they are in balcony and i want to let them be there for winter cause i notcied some of em are summer dormant and actually grow in winter if they have decent sunlight If if isolate balcony with plastics when its get really cold will it be enough for them?
@Succulentsandsunshine3 жыл бұрын
It is difficult to say for sure. It will all depend on how cold it gets and the rating of the succulents you are growing. As long as the succulents in your setup on the balcony aren't below their minimum temperature for multiple days it should be fine!

I live in Georgia, zone 6. That means I would need to bring my succulents indoors for the winter?
@Succulentsandsunshine4 жыл бұрын
If you have succulents that aren't cold hardy, they would need to be brought indoors.

Hi, I'm from zone 8b with a variety of succulents grown into something that I can't move into my house 😱! Are they safe out there? Or I'll need to protect them during winter?
@Succulentsandsunshine3 жыл бұрын
It depends on the succulent. Some succulents are fine to be outdoors in the winter. You can look your succulents up here: www.succulentsandsunshine.com/yt-typesofsuccs

This is unrelated to the video but my chocolate soldier grew a root. On the stem! What does it mean, what do I have to do? Should I pull it out. It's pink in colour.
@Succulentsandsunshine6 жыл бұрын
That sounds like an aerial root! There are several reasons why that might happen, but one of the most common is that it's searching for water. Learn more about that here: succulentsandsunshine.com/yt-aerialroots

If you grow Sempervivum or cold hardy Sedum, they can be kept outside year-round. More details here: succulentsandsunshine.com/yt-outdoorgarden

So helpful, thank you! I can't bring in all my succulents but they are under a tree, a little protected. If the temps dip to just below 40 for two days and it is windy, do you think they would be okay? I'm in Central Florida.
@Succulentsandsunshine4 жыл бұрын
it really depends on the specific succulent and what its minimum temp is. You can search for your succulent here to find out: www.succulentsandsunshine.com/yt-typesofsuccs If its just for a few days you should be fine but it's hard to know without knowing what succulents.

This is very helpful. Thanks! How about if it's raining all day for a couple of weeks?
@Succulentsandsunshine6 жыл бұрын
If it's been raining that much, you'll probably want to move your succulents somewhere they won't be exposed to so much water. A few days will be ok, but they'll have a hard time with an extended period.

If the soil is quick draining, they should be fine. Sitting in water logged soil is the problem, but Ive even had some survive for 2 years in an abandoned water logged plant pot. I think some of these succulents are even more hardy than we give them credit for.

Yes, 1st year for cacti outside & I keep an eye on them. If the snow melts, as it will before snowing again, should I cover them? I look forward to watching them ‘pop back to life’ in the Spring.

@@niqueveron6047 you shouldn't needed to cover them. They can handle it 😊
