Join me on my "Big Toe Journey" as I share the challenges and experiences I've faced since I was 12 years old. It all started when a physio discovered I had tight Achilles tendons, leading to further investigations with orthopaedics and a rheumatologist. Initially, they suspected arthritis, but X-rays and an ultrasound revealed an extra bone on my big toe. Over the years, finding comfortable shoes has been a constant battle, with no pair lasting more than 6-8 weeks.
At 17, I saw another orthopaedic consultant who suggested steroid injections. One was successful, but the other was a painful experience that I never want to repeat. Now, with surgery and orthotics as my only options, I've been navigating the process of finding the right orthotic shoes. It’s been a long journey, but I’m finally on the home stretch with them.
As I prepare for surgery on October 1st, I'll be sharing updates, including pre-op and post-op pictures. Don't forget to subscribe, like, and comment to follow along on this journey!
