CAN'T ADD WIFI POINTS ON Google Wifi

this include steps that we can do before coordinating with a Google Wifi representative if we're unable to add a Wifi point, this is just a troubleshooting tips that might be helpful.

connecting the cable allow me to add points. After disconnect I only had to forget the router original wifi to have the mesh working. Thanks for the tip

@@googlegeek I bougth 6 used Google wifi units, and therefore I had to reset every unit. On my devices I did so by holding the reset button on the back in, while connecting it to power. Released the button when the light turned blue. The main unit was then connected to internet ("globe" input). Used the Google Home app and chose + in the left top corner. Chose "Configure unit", or similar in your own language. I had to turn of my Google Chromecast because it seemed to interfere with the process. When the app finds the unit I had to name the wifi point pluss give it a password. I also had to name the position, room etc. I recommend using the same "room" for every unit and differiantiate between the units by giving them good specific names. It makes it look more "clean" in the Google Home app. To add new Google wifi units I had to plug it into power (after resetting) and place it right next to the main unit, and NOT at the place I would eventually place it. Waited a loooong time (10 minutes) before I added it in the Google Home app. Added the unit in the same way as the main unit. In the end I changed the name to a specific name or it would be hard to see the difference between my 6 Google Wifi points. Then I unplugged the new Google Wifi point and moved it to the place I had chosen. Repeated the process for each extra unit. Now it works ok but my old (and more powerful) router did have better range from the unit itself and less lag when playing games. But now I at least have better connection around the entire house, since the old, single one could not reach to the other side of the house. And now my mobile units, like my phone, use less power connecting to wifi.
