Can't Buy Me Love - Behind The Scenes Slideshow

This behind the scenes slide show, including pictures taken on the set of 'Can't Buy Me Love', was shown at a screening of the film in Los Angeles on February 11, 2011.
A reunion of various cast members and the writer of the film also took place that evening. You can find the Q & A from that evening amongst my other videos.

I was 17 when I saw this at the theatre in the mid-west. I always thought 'What A Cool School With Outdoor Hallways' ha. Movies used to take you away.

That's interesting! I was born and raised in Phoenix (just 2 hours north of Tucson, same climate) and most of the schools are like that. I was always envious of the schools I was used to seeing in movies, where the entire school was inside the same building, whereas here in the desert, most schools are comprised of free standing buildings like a main office building, a cafetorium, and a building for each grade or so (all doors are external, so very few hallways or connections. If you want to get to the next classroom, you walk outside first. I think there's a good chunk of LA movies with schools like that, like Summer School I think.

I just watched this movie for the first time scince it came out. I was a jr in high school when it hit the theatre so it was right in my wheelhouse. I loved it then and you know, it still holds up. Amanda peterson was so beautiful and we all had a crush on her. Very sad to hear what happened to her early on in her career and how it affected the trajectory of her life. It makes a person sad. She was one of my generation. I miss the 80s. It was a good time

I know what you mean. I had a huge crush on her when I was a teenager! I do believe she was the object of every boy's affection when this movie first came to theaters. I do believe the rape inflicted upon her by whoever the sadistic creep was that did it to her was ultimately what triggered her persistent drug use. She was horribly traumatized and obviously just trying to cope with the disturbing assault that pushed her over the edge. Well, the way I see it, she probably went straight to Heaven. Whoever the scuzzball was that sexually assaulted her, he on the other hand will pay eternally in Hell for ruining her life. ~Dutch

The music reminds me of the opening theme for a few videos we use to watch elementary school about science. I’m not sure what it was called and it may not even sound the same. I want to say it had a white background and just random “science” related things popping up. I remember a dinosaur but I can’t remember anything else lol. This was in the early 2000s so as far I know it could’ve been from the 90s. It’s not Bill Nye but it does give off the same vibe as his openings. Random I know but I always think of it when I hear this.
