39:04 JM is wrong about this. The state will NOT force a child to go to counseling. I had 2 of my nephews that were taken by CPS and I became their foster parent. I tried to get both of them counseling and they refused to go. CPS, or I could not make them go!
@sereneamani17138 ай бұрын
I know there are differences between the states. However, in your state, would or would not the state be considered the legal guardian? If so, couldn't a case be made for the need of counseling, and it be ordered by state or court system? I hope your nephews are doing well now And you also.
@tashiaredd34215 ай бұрын
@@sereneamani1713yes, at one point they were considered “ward of the state”, but they still did not make them go to counseling. They were in the system for over 7 years by the end. They had multiple case workers and I asked each of them for counseling and still could not make them go if they didn’t want to. I think cause they were in the system for so long they kind of gave up on them. I even offered to go with them and NOTHING
