Can u help me? Some trables with migrate this setup to another project. Its say: UNABLE TO DETERMINE

Another way is to add the marketplace asset to a 4.26 project and then migrate it to unreal 5.
@unfgames3 жыл бұрын
Yes, thanks for sharing! The steps for that are: 1. From the Epic Launcher, add the asset to the 4.26 project 2. Open said 4.26 project 3. Select the needed folders 4. Right click and choose "migrate" (and see if any error pops up) 5. Open the UE5 project where you migrated the content and check everything is working fine. There are a lot of ways of doing the same thing, so use the one that most suits your needs :D

Anyone figure out how to properly import a pack? For the moment what I have found best and which works is to create a new folder in the content then drag and drop the source file, taking care to select the root. The problem with this method is that it removes all the materials from the meshes, I have yet to find anything on youtube to do this correctly.

Not yet, every Unreal engine so called-tutorial doesn't explain anything or just over complicated everything....enjoy watching 45 sec videos where they just show you to click on download and add to your project and thats it.....they don't even show how to open anything or just not mentionne anything usueful. seems to be some kinda of trends in the UE5 community....

Where do I put the stuff that was downloaded to my DOWNLOADS from a TUTORIAL Follow along? I'm not Downloading the stuff directly from UE5 and so the folder downloads straight into my DOWNLOADS Folder. Where do I put that stuff so that I can use it in UE5? It's crazy, for the past three weeks, 20 some different comment sections have yet to respond to this exact question. All tutorials completely SKIP this step.
@unfgames3 жыл бұрын
The way you are phrasing the question is too confusing. I don’t understand what you are asking so I’ll try to guess. Are you asking where are the files that gets downloaded when you download an asset from the Unreal marketplace?
@chumcool3 жыл бұрын
@@unfgames Sorry, rewording: There are some tutorials on KZbin where the individual giving the lesson has provided a folder that you can download. The folder is full of assets relative to the tutorial. Sense the assets aren’t being directly downloaded from Quixil, the files end up being downloaded into the downloads folder on my PC. This way of doing things ultimately, and annoyingly, bypasses the traditional automated Quixil bridge too UE5 direct downloading procedure. Therefore, one has to manually install the assets. Would you know where one should install, or place, the assets folder and contents within the UE5 Application?
@unfgames3 жыл бұрын
It depends of the type of assets. If the assets have the extension .png .tga .fbx .obj, then the person who gave you the assets is expecting you to import them through the unreal editor’s content browser. If for some reason they give you .uassets, then you can copy and paste them inside the “Content” folder inside your project. This is all general advice, but if you have trouble with downloaded content given through a tutorial then you should ask the creator to clarify things.

@@someonesgamedevcareer8472 people are updating their marketplace packages to UE5, it may have some compatibility issues. I believe it shouldn't crash, that's an extreme case but better for now export to a new project just in case
