How do you like the turn based combat? I'm leery about playing like a dragon after I finish yakuza 6

Problem is, I only played Yakuza 7, and didn't even finish it yet. I had really hoped that with the setting change in LAD8 the series would be going fully independent of the kiryu saga, but now it feels like I can't play 8 without playing all games before it. And I don't even particularly like the real time combat in those.

Early 2024 is going to be huge if you like Japanese games. Yakuza 8, Persona 3, FFVII. That's already like 200 hours there in the first two months alone.

I really enjoyed the Sovereign Syndicate demo. It made me feel like I should be picking the choices suitable for the character I had in mind, not merely pick what seemed to be the optimal choice. And I didn't feel punished for doing so.

Oh man infinite wealth! One of those that I won't play for a long time because I'm slowly working through 100% the series. I'm on 2. Will also check out Judgement and Lost Judgement as I have them. My hype for the Like a Dragon series is unmatched except by FF7-Rebirth. But that's February's problem.

Tekken 7 was the best in series so far. And I am hyped for tekken 8. Just not for the launch. I expect a technical desaster for ONLINE play that will hopefully be addressed and fixed with time. But it is good that it will finally come out and start this process ( of fixing online ) I speak from the experience for the tests they had for tekken 8 and the reality that "betas" usually never help that much in the short time until the gams is fully released.

Palworld! It's scheduled to go to early access in January, they have a new trailer coming out on the 15th, everything they've shown about the game so far makes it look like everything good out of Pokemon Legends: Arceus but turned into a farce of the idea of Pokemon. I'm so incredibly stoked for the game, really hoping it manages to deliver on their trailers and gameplay showcases!

(Wasn't going to do craftopia 'till it was out of EA anyway, which... hasn't happened yet.)

TLOU2 only has a single release. The Remaster is a 10 USD upgrade if you already own the game.

​@@phrozac No not TLOU2, the TLOU series in general. We got TLOU on PS3, TLOU Remastered on PS4 a year later, TLOU 2, TLOU Part 1, and then TLOU 2 Remastered. There are more remasters/remakes in the series than new installments

GoWR gives us a free update with a roguelike mode. TLoU2 charges us $50 for a similar thing. I love the games but I really wish it was more in the realm of $25 (free DLC like GoWR seems like that could be justified as well). $50 just doesn't seem like a high enough value proposition when I already own the game.

I read that if you owned the PS4 version it’s just a $10 upcharge for the graphics and extra mode. I do hear ya though rereleases should not be that expensive especially so soon and with no real narrative changes or substantial gameplay content

Tekken 8 is missing core characters like Lei, Bob and Miguel. I miss the times, when you could unlock new fighters instead paying for them. Tekken 3 was the best, when it came to tge unlocks. More than half the roster. Yes I'm old!
