My older son is living with me and my husband right now. I'd hate to think people would come in my home to take my things. Who keeps receipts for everything? It's like they're forcing the parents or other family members to pay for someone else's debt just to keep these bailiffs from taking things. I'm glad they don't do this in the US. The son needs to pay. Can't they run the tag and it'll tell you who the car is registered to. Is that just a US thing?

@combatwombat2134Күн бұрын
It really isn't insane... Imagine these situations if people could just spit out that everything wasn't theirs. Besides, how are the High Court Officers supposed to prove things are people's items? If there's actually a named document that says so, grand, I don't keep much that shows what's mine, clearly most people don't either. The burden of proof on them is the only avenue that makes sense and is workable.

@@UnKrashable which doesn't solve what items were bought when during particular transactions. Nor does it cover cash payments. If you spend two grand at a shop, you don't know what items they were without receipts (which if they had those they have proof anyway). You just know they spent two grand. Half these people are barely earning. You can't take below a certain threshold so putting collateral against their wages won't work. These people owe what they owe. It's for them to pay it.
