Great lesson mate! Though I have played various styles and genres of guitar for the last forty years, I'm just now starting to work on my lead guitar skill set - learning the various scales, notes of the fretboard, triads and arpeggios including, believe it or not, playing with a pick. Flatpicking is something I never really explored as I started playing classical guitar when only 9 or ten years old, thus over the years I always relied on fingerpicking and never really worked on my flatpicking skills.......... I found this song, in particular, to be a great tune for working on various lead techniques as the tempo is not overwhelming, plus I really love the tune!..........Anyway, again, wonderful lesson and I look forward to checking out your channel to see what else you have to offer - cheers from chilly Canada!

Love this comment! We've all had different musical journeys with our guitars, and there's always (and I mean ALWAYS) something new to learn. This was a song I used to play (badly) at campfires when I was in college, and I had always wanted to do a deep dive into what Toy Caldwell was actually doing. Howdy, Willis! I used the Line 6 Pod Go, and pulled up a Twin Reverb amp. Line 6 separates the reverb into a "pedal" and the "pedal" I used was the '63 Spring Reverb. Twin: Volume 5, Bass 3.8, Mid 7, Treble 6.5, Presence 2.5 (My best guess on Reverb is 3.8, but this will need to be done to taste if you got a Twin) '63 Spring Reverb: Decay 3.5, Low Cut 87 Hz, High Cut 5.0 kHz, Mix 38%. If you happen to have a Pod God and have any interest, I'd be happy to export the preset and share it with you 😁
