In one of his books he writes about how he always liked her but had a hard time understanding her & she always felt he didn't like her and gave her all the hard questions (which he sure did)...but that before she went away they had a heart to heart and they got close while she was away, they emailed each other all the time & he sent her a lot of books to read & other gifts. You can tell a difference in the vibe between them at the reunions after she came back....still I wish just for one reunion he would grill the hell out of Melissa & hold her feet to the fire!!

OC paved the way for all other franchises. It is the first and best in my eyes. My ranking is OC, NYC, ATL, BH, Dallas, Potomac, and NJ, used to love NJ but it slowly goes downhill year after year. I think it needs a casting overhaul. They need to get rid of Danielle, Jennifer and bring back Caroline and Kathy.

Honestly, at least from my viewing experience I started watching OC in its 2 or 3 season. Then after that I watched ALT. Didnt even knew NYC existed. Well turns out NYC was before ATL. However, ALT made the franchise cool, then came NJ. And Teresa flippes the table. Which then set the tone for the franchise. Drama drama drama. There wasnt as much drama on season 1 or 2 of OC when it was the only franchise. It all started because of Nene and Kim, then blown up by Teresa and Danielle. The remaining shows have yet to prove themselves. I do however like how Vicki handled the men in her show.

Depends on how you look at it. There are some people who don't watch ATL because they can't connect with it, and Teresa's table flip is what put Housewives on the map. Insofar as Betheny is concerned, she may be unlikeable, there there is absolutely no denying she has pioneered and transformed the game in terms of the marketing world via this platform and created the template for how a woman creates a Forbes recognized brand from the ground up via reality tv, and while LVP was already established over on RHOBH, she runs a close second in showing you how to build an international brand through a reality tv platform. She has literal food tours from travel companies coming to her group of restaurants and she's used the brand recognition gained from the visability of that show to get to Capitol Hill and campaign against animal abuse. She is the centerpiece of her franchise. New York and Beverly Hills are interesting because they have legitimate jet setting businesswomen actually DOING things on a mega scale. Outside of Kandi in Atlanta, and a few of the other girls scattered across the rest of the franchises, the rest of the women have to rely on infighting to bring anything at all to the table, and you'd be surprised how uninteresting that has now become for many viewers.

I tastefully disagree. I believe Ramona got confused by what the "head" person said. I do believe that if RHONY was not successful, the housewives franchise would have ended there. It truly made its mark when Ramona was the first housewife to walk off during the reunion. However, RHOA really put the housewives on the map, because it proved to be the most watched out of all three during its very first season. But New York did pave a way for all future franchises.
