I believe her dad was entitled to be on a shareholder call when the deal was going to be discussed/announced to the shareholders but he would have had to sign an NDA for that call. He refused and was not part of the call where this decision was discussed. And the $15m “profit” from the deal is what you get when you own a stake of the company. It happens automatically when it’s sold.
@josefinasoderholm64884 ай бұрын
Yes. And the issue wasn’t that the company was sold. What Taylor had a problem with is that it was sold to Scoter. She had herself tried to buy her masters but was denied. And Scott was like a father to her, so the betrayal was devastating to her especially when Scott knew all the things Scooter had done and how it had impacted Taylor
@KetlinCarramanhos4 ай бұрын
What people ALWAYS forget to mention is that BEFORE her father invested on Big Machine Taylor ALREADY had a contract with a record label as a song writer and she was already making money as a writer since she was 13 or 14. She used to go to the record label after class and worked on songs that were used for other singers on their albums. So her father only invested on her because she was already making money from her talent as a song writer and he new it would be a good investment. So, it's not like she didn't do anything to deserve her success before her father's money got in the story. She was already writing professionally, but she wanted to debut as a singer and the label she was working for as a teen song writer didn't want to debut her as a singer, so when her contract as a writer ended, that's when she signed with Big Machine. And her father only invested because Big Machine didn't have enough money to properly make her debut. And it wasn't a lot of money, he invested about 150 thousand dollars, which in the music industry, and in the entertainment industry, is nothing. Her father DIDN'T spend millions on her debut, people make it sound like they were this billionaire family but they weren't. Of course they weren't poor, but they weren't as rich as they are now at that time.

What the documentary completely missed : 1The label had been for sell for more than one year by that time, meaning that when Taylor was negociating to buy her masters back, they were already looking to sell. Which I think everyone can imagine that without Taylor’s masters and contract, the value of said record label was going to drop considerably hence why they tried to trick her with their bs offer. 2. Taylor never said that her original deal was shit or illegal, nor that scooter buying was illegal. She said she was upset that HE was the one who bought it because of their history and because she wasn’t warn by Scott who she considered family. 3. She was upset she never got a real chance to buy her masters back from Scott despite their history and all the money she and her family invested in his company (she was the first artist signed to the label). 4. She also spoke about it to make the general public aware of what a record deal is so that future artists wouldn’t end up in a similar situation and the norm would change, like she did with the streaming services. And if we wanna get personnal with dating history : Scooter’s wife demanded divorce a few month later... I don’t see what Katy Perry has to do with any of it, nor her parents moving from Pensylvenia to Nashville to support their daughter’s dream....
@keepyourmindopen4 ай бұрын
She isn't say she didn't know because she was 15, she is saying that she believed the verbal promises he made that weren't in the contract because she trusted him. He supposedly told here that she would have the option to buy buy the masters when her contract ended, he didn't know how much it would be worth when he made that promise and then broke it.

On the part of Scott swift being a shareholder... From reports on Taylor's side the meeting where they were discussing the selling and deal of BMR Scott *DIDN'T* participate in that meeting *because* it was reported that they were made to sign an NDA about said meeting and thus he would know all this information *BUT* would not be able to tell Taylor so *he decided to skip the meeting therefore he NEVER learned who was buying the lable and that is WHY Taylor said she learned of the sell when it hit the news* Important to clarify: As Taylor mentioned in one interview in 2019 she KNEW Scott was gonna sell the label and she had made peace with that (I assume she figure that once the lable was sold she planned on talking to the owners and see if she could buy her music from them) until she learned *WHO* the buyer was.
@coke-cinelle4 ай бұрын
The label had been for sell even before she even left. I remember discussion about it during the rep tour which for me was a very important point on why they would not let her buy her masters in the first place, because without her, the record label’s value would be considerably less
@missmaggicasares65384 ай бұрын
@@coke-cinelle Yes, that is what I figure as well given that from reports HER catalog made MORE than half the value of BMR. That is why she had made peace with that UNTIL she learned of WHO the buyer was. I have always thought that she figured once the sale had gone through she could contact the new owners and get a deal. But let's be honest, as the owner of her catalog it would be pretty damn hard to say "Sure I'll sell it to you" because you KNOW once you let those masters go THAT payment is the only one you'll get. unlike if you own them you get to keep profiting from them. That is the reason Scooter put the clause in the Shamrock deal because he still wanted to get profits EVEN if he is not the owner anymore.

11:27 one thing that they’re probably are not gonna show up in this documentary is that yes Scott Swift owned 3% of big machine records however, he was not in any way, shape or form a part for of any negotiation on the sale of that record company. He is did not know who it was sold to because he did not attend those meetings because of conflict of interest because of Taylor.

@@hellrose18Because he is in his actions (the drama things that we saw in the previous episode). Plus she never said it was illegal, she was upset HE was the buyer because of their history, and Scott made the deal without saying to Taylor that he intended to sell the masters, and she considered Scott as family. So that’s why she felt betrayed by him. Not to mention the fucked up deal Scooter proposed (the master for a master deal + she had to sign an NDA saying that she couldn’t say anything about scooter or the situation even BEFORE entering the negociations, hence why she didn’t sign anything for him and rejected the so called « generous offer »). The whole situation is fucked up.

2 points 1. Scott Swifts initial investment was $300,000. So roughly the price of a house. A lot of money, but not enough to really finance her career. 2. Scooter bought Big Machine for $300 million and then sold only Taylor’s catalog for $300 million AFTER he knew she was going to re-record and told Shamrock that she wouldn’t do that. So basically he got an entire record company for free.
@andrewmccampbell38774 ай бұрын
I get that Taylor should have asked her fans to not be that threatening, but 1. This wasn’t a large portion of the fan base, 2. She has lots of influence but she doesn’t actually have control over her fans, 3. He started this and has tons of money to hire security for his family, and 4. You can’t repeatedly traumatize someone and then act defensive when they don’t respond in a perfect, measured, healthy way. So again maybe she was in the wrong on that specific point, but I also don’t think it’s fair to hold that against her all that much. She’s human, not perfect, and was dealing with someone traumatizing her.

15:52 I don’t think it’s entirely fair to classify TTPD as a breakup album. I get why someone not as well versed in the content might think that, but this album is about her. Her life. Her challenges. Her emotions. Her life performing on this epic tour unlike anything we’ve seen in decades/ever, all while having to live this challenging year in mostly silence. Yes she went through two breakups and another new relationship, so other people were involved in those experiences. But this is, as a whole, an album about her, not one centered around the men or even relationships in her life. That’s not to say there aren’t breakup songs on the album. But the project as a whole is not a breakup album anymore than any of her other projects have been.

KZbin only allows a certain amount of characters so I can't ramble on as much as I do on Patreon, but I'll add more as a reply to this comment. This episode is VERY biased and just talking about the legalities while completely missing the point. They are deliberately cutting out key information to fit their narrative while talking about things that have nothing to do with this. I do wanna say, I don't agree with bullying EVER, and I think it's horrrible that Scooter has received death threats, and even worse, his wife and kids. That is UNACCEPTABLE. But Taylor didn't incite that kind of behaviour and it's not her fault that some people are so unhinged they send people death threats, even innocent kids. Should she have chosen her words more carefully? Absolutely. Should she say something and condemn this kind of behaviour? Yes, I think she should. But she's still not responsible for other people and it's not like she deliberately wrote that statement in hopes that people would send him and his family death threats. At the same time, I don't blame Scooter for people on his side sending Taylor death threats (which they have). Even though he's treated her horribly, he's NEVER insinuated he wanted her dead. It's still wrong what he's done but there's a clear difference. However, Scooter IS responsible for HIS words and actions, and while he's never explicitly said anything bad towards Taylor himself (nor has she about him except for the truth), he's been associated with people that have: Kanye, Kim, Justin and even Demi. Also, it's funny their whole argument is that the contract and the sale was legal and above board but when Taylor decided to re-record her albums, which she was LEGALLY allowed to do, they had a a problem with it. Just shows the double standards. Both parties were legally in the right but only one was morally in the right. Things they cut out/twisted to fit their narrative or completely unrelated things: Scooter's upbringing/beginnings in the industry. Not fully explaining why Taylor had a problem with Scooter in the first place. Taylor's contract where she was not given a chance to buy her masters UNLESS she did 6 more albums under the label in exchange for the first 6 she didn't own (one new album for one old album). The Kimye phone call/Famous song. Taylor's dad's NON-involvement in the deal/her rise to fame. Taylor's "victim narrative"/writing songs about her exes. Bad Blood video/Her and Katy making up after their feud. Most of Scooter's biggest clients leaving his management last year. I also could not stand "Dr. Jennifer Otter Bickerdike" or Marina Bogorad, Nola Ojomu and Lucas Shaw (especially the first two)! Zing Tseng (the one Danny pointed out) on the other hand was amazing and in spite of clearly being a Taylor fan she was able to be the most unbiased and admit Taylor's wrongdoings and her influence as well as her privilege, while still recognising that she has been treated unfairly in the industry (especailly as a woman). Scooter, who was born in NYC and raised in Connecticut, came from a wealthy family and his parents were both dentists. In 1999, when he was a freshman in Emory University in Atlanta, he started organising parties at local nightclubs and working as a promoter for local rap and hip-hop artists, including Ciara, Cee-Lo, Ludacris (who collaborated with Justin on Baby) and Usher. His big break came in 2002 when Ludacris was about to go out on tour with Eminem and asked him to organise a few parties, where he met producer Jermaine Dupri (who was also Janet Jackson's boyfriend at the time) who named him So So Def’s executive director of marketing (they managed Usher, TLC and more). In 2005, Scooter left/was fired (there are conflicting reports on that) from So So Def and made a $12 million deal between Ludacris and Pontiac, a car company. He then got a gig as an entertainment consultant for the Atlanta Hawks basketball team. In 2007, Scooter founded SB Projects, an entertainment and media company. Scooter DID discover Justin in 2008 when Justin was 14, after his mum posted videos of him on KZbin (though mainly to share with family and friends). He convinced Justin's mum to bring him to Atlanta to record demos and meet Usher (they actually had a choice between Usher and Justin Timberlake). Scooter eventually convinced them to move permanently from Canada to the US and Justin signed with Island Def Jam in partnership with Raymond-Braun Media Group (RBMG), a joint-adventure between Scooter and Usher. They were both kind of mentors/father figures/older brothers to Justin, especially since his own father wasn't really around (until he became famous - shocker). Even if you aren't a fan of Justin or Scooter, I really recommend his documentary/concert films "Never Say Never" (which remains the highest grossing music documentary in domestic box-office history), Justin Bieber's "Believe", 10 episode docu-series "Justin Bieber: Seasons" on KZbin - about his struggles with Lyme disease, mental health, drug addiction and his relationship/wedding to his wife Hailey (which broke the all-time record for the most-viewed premiere in its first week of all KZbin Originals to date) and "Justin Bieber: Our World" on Amazon Prime. I also recommend Ariana Grande's Dangerous Woman Diaries" on KZbin and "Excuse Me, I Love You" on Netflix, all produced/co-produced by SB Projects. In addition, they are working on the documentary "Child Star" on Hulu, which is Demi Lovato's directorial debut, about growing up as a child star in Hollywood (former child stars like Drew Barrymore and Raven Symoné are expected to appear). Aside from Justin, Kanye, Ariana and Demi, Scooter has also managed clients like The Black Eyed Peas, Tori Kelly, J Balvin, David Guetta, Kelly Rowland, Carly Rae Jepsen, Psy, Dan+Shay and Idina Menzel. He started managing Kanye in 2016, around the same time Kim leaked the phone call. The Kanye/Taylor thing started in 2009 at the VMAs. Y'all know what happened there. In spite of all that, Taylor forgave him in the song Innocent off her album Speak Now and later they even appeared to have become friends. Then in 2016 Kanye released his song Famous and said he called Taylor and asked her if he could use the "b****" line in the song and she agreed. But when Taylor denied it, Kim released a 3 minute highly edited recording of the phone call between them in which Taylor appeared to have consented to it (the recording may have been illegal btw depending on what state they were in). Taylor was called a liar and people started to turn on her so she went into hiding. Then came the music video and as Kanye's manager at the time, Scooter had to have AT LEAST known about it beforehand, if not had some part in it. During her speech after winning Album of the Year at the 2016 Grammy Awards, Taylor said: "As the first woman to win AOTY at the Grammys twice, I want to say to all the young women out there, there will be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for YOUR accomplishments or YOUR fame". She also spent quite a deal of time praising other female artists, but of course they didn't mention that. Finally in 2020, a 25 minute uncut version of the call surfaced, proving that Kanye did NOT tell Taylor about the use of the word b****. First, he asked her if he could use the line "I feel like Taylor Swift might OWE ME SEX" (which was later changed to "I feel like me and Taylor MIGHT STILL HAVE SEX"), and Taylor was more concerned with other people's reactions to that. She was also RELIEVED that he did NOT call her a b****, saying "I'm glad it's not mean. I thought it was going to be like, 'That stupid, dumb b****.' But it's not." He then asked "What if later in the song I also say 'I made HER famous'?" While Taylor seemed to accept that lyric, her exact words were "Well, what am I going to do about it?" which tells me she wasn't 100% comfortable about it. She actually sounded very uncomfortable to me throughout most of the conversation. Yet, she kinda laughed it off because she thought it was just tongue-in-cheek since even though he might not have known who she was, she had already sold 7 million of the album Fearless before the 2009 VMA incident (politely shading him like the Queen she is 🤣) and she even thanked him for letting her know. Kanye also said he was gonna send her the song with the exact lyrics once he was finished but he never did, which is also something they conveniently forgot to mention. The conversation also includes Kanye rambling on about I don't even know what. On Twitter, Kim accused Taylor of lying again and denied editing the video. Taylor's publicist Tree Paine responded to her with "when you take parts out, that's editing". Taylor didn't say anything. Instead, she just took to Instagram and urged her followers to donate to Covid-19 relief efforts. You can watch the whole unedited video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y2aphnWtmNWdqLssi=cC2z4mbf-3sE0NrJ. In the summer of 2023 it was reported that Ariana, Demi, J Balvin and Idina Menzel had dropped him. Several others had also left before that. Ariana signed with him in 2013 (though she briefly left him in 2016) while Demi, J Balvin and Idina did in 2019. An anonymous source said all of his clients were under contract not to leave him and not to say anything bad about him. Justin appears to have still been with him, though there were rumours he left too and he seemed to have distanced himself from him. But there was definitely something going on last year and it's weird they didn't mention it (again, trying to fit their narrative). I know this sounds selfish but as a fan of Taylor, Demi AND Justin this whole thing has been very hard for me. I don't agree with the way Justin talked about Taylor around the time all this shit was happening or his friendship with Kanye (and certain other people), but, again, it's more complicated for him. Scooter has always seemed to genuinely care about him. I DO give Justin credit that he apologised for it (see here: instagram.com/p/BzWYdS9Hj5R/?hl=en) even though he still remained loyal to Scooter. It's sad because he and Taylor used to be friends. Taylor and Demi used to be close too back when Demi, Selena and Miley were on Disney. And again, even I can admit their "beef" was mainly just Demi being a petty drama queen. But Demi stood by Scooter too because "he was nice to HER". She had had a management team that treated her horribly, especially when she relapsed, as she talked about in Dancing with the Devil, so I understand Scooter must have looked like an angel compared to them. There's no denying Scooter has done a lot of good. He has worked with dozens of charities and helped organise events like the March for Our Lives protest after the Parkland school shooting in 2018, and, along with Ariana, he planned the One Love Manchester concert for the victims of the terrorist bombing at her May 2017 concert. Scooter is also a proud Jew and has been very outspoken in his support and advocacy for the Jewish community and Israel, especially since the October 7th attacks. I know a lot of people disagree with his views on that but it is one thing I do agree on. Though I don't know how that or the fact that his grandparents were Holocaust survivors has anything to do with the masters dispute, it's clearly just done to try to gain sympathy and portray him as a good guy with a tragic family history. And they say Taylor keeps playing the victim! Also, Bad Blood, which was released in 2014, IS 100% about Katy Perry. Katy allegedly "stole" some of Taylor's backup dancers for her tour without consulting her. I honestly still don't even know the full story but I can admit Taylor was being childish in the way she handled it. In May 2018, on the same day Taylor's Reputation Tour kicked off, Katy extended a literal olive branch to her and sent her a letter, which Taylor was moved by (see here: www.harpersbazaar.com/celebrity/latest/a20530731/katy-perry-taylor-swift-olive-branch/). In June 2019, Katy appeared in Taylor's music video for You Need to Calm Down where they appeared to have ended their feud once and for all. Then, in September 2020, after Katy gave birth to her daughter with Orlando Bloom, Taylor sent them a blanket (see here: instagram.com/p/CFG0-c3hU04/?). Finally, Katy attended the Eras Tour in Sydney, Australia on earlier this year and even posted a video of herself singing along to Bad Blood (see here: instagram.com/p/C3sR2ecrbmX/?). That being said, I still don't know what that has to do with this and blaming Taylor for some of her fans' behaviour because she used guns and was fighting in a music video is ridiculous and like saying playing violent video games or watching violent movies with guns make people do violent things. Regarding the AMA performance, which was in November 2019, in spite of denying Taylor's claims that she wasn't allowed to perform her old songs (because they considered it the same as a re-rerecording which she wasn't allowed to legally do until November 2020), they issued a statement saying they had agreed to "allow" it a week before the show. I suspect they were "pressured" by the online response after Taylor made that post. And again, not a documentary but I highly recommend this video explaining copyright laws from a fairly unbiased view by an actual lawyer: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g16kkIWohMqijdksi=RpZ1_IWSIjnFvYYH.

This was never about whether Scooter or Borchetta did anything illegal, and Scooter and the producers of this click-grab documentary know that. Taylor’s made clear from the beginning that she’d both said from early on that she hoped to be able to buy her masters eventually, and that the standard of artists being expected to sign away their rights to own their masters is flawed and damaging to artists. She’s literally talked in a Zane slower interview about her view of adjusting licensing agreements to help labels make very healthy profits without artists having to give up rights to their masters. Instead the industry is adjusting contracts to make it impossible for artists to re-record for 20 years. And interesting how they attempt to leverage Scooter’s Jewish heritage to make him more sympathetic but ignore his longtime association with known antisemite Kanye, whose obsession with the guy who caused the Holocaust was apparently known within the industry for many years before it went fully public. Was it remotely plausible that Scooter was unaware of this? Basically the way they present “Scooter’s side” doubles down on his strategy of deflecting and attempting to blame Taylor for not being willing to just take a raw deal. It doesn’t illuminate anything - it just seeks to generate heat and benefit from Taylor’s current level of celebrity. Total cash grab from these producers. Re 15:33 - TTPD doesn’t seem like it was really meant to be a breakup album as much as it was an exploration of how that outsized level of celebrity can affect an artist’s ability to have a happy personal life. It seems very meaningful that the first half of the album begins with Fortnight and the exploration of depression and ends with Clara Bow and its references to how the fame machine has treated women from the beginning.

Hence, the artists formerly known as Prince. 2. Diddy and J Z Bad Boys Records. They killed Aaliyah. Also, they signed horrible contracts with rappers in the 90’s. The second part of the documentary was disappointing. I was expecting to hear more of his side, the reasons why he went after the label in the first place, the reasons why Scott would sell the label to him of all people. All of that would have been very interesting, and maybe would shine new light on the situation. Instead I had to sit through people criticising Taylor in the same way we’ve always heard. She goes through men, uses them to write songs, always plays the victim, and lies and manipulates the truth to do so. I learned nothing from the second part, which completely defeats the purpose of the documentary.

The whole signing at 15/contractual loyalty is best described in long pond the description of the song My Tears Ricochet, and the song goes into the emotion of it all. She always said he was like a father to her and he then decided to pick Scooter over everyone else to buy her songs out of spite because she wouldn't re-sign. (He would have made a lot more money on the sale if she was still their artist.) She knew he was selling the company and her along with it even if she re-signed and she wasn't ok with the not knowing who that buyer could be and no way out if it ended up being a bad match. She has always been open and honest with this fact and it's even in her original post but they're not showing that part because it doesn't fit the scott and scooter are "victims" narrative. The celebrities came to her side because one of the first things Scooter did after buying her masters was state in an interview with another man that he now owned Taylor Swift. The song Bad Blood is about Katy Perry but the video is not. The video is powerfull women together taking a stand. Not all of them were Taylor besties like Zendaya, Mariska Hargitay, Ellen Pompeo etc. Also there's no reason to even mention Katy since they are in fact friends again so what grudge is she supposedly holding there? Katy's career hit a stand still because her music isn't great. I love pop because it's always changing but her music from what I've heard (I stopped after the 3rd album) stays the same. Just like poor Meghan Trainor love her voice but her music is all the same. She was able to perform her songs because when they told her she couldn't she again went to social media because that's how you get these a-holes to tuck tail and back down. Then they put out the statements claiming he wasn't trying to stop her so her team put out the email that they sent her telling her she couldn't. Taylor keeps her receipts. Or quoting End Game "I bury hatchets but I keep maps of where I put them"

Taylor Swift is what happens when people really support their kids! Parents are supposed to help their kids!!!
@RNMom194 ай бұрын
Not every parent has the resources to “support their kid” like Taylor’s parents. Taylor had the raw talent but her parents’ wealth gave them more opportunity and flexibility than most parents can afford their kids.
@Mia_M4 ай бұрын
@@RNMom19 They're not just saying monetarily though. This is what happens when you believe in your kid's dreams. There are plenty of stories of former child actors whose parents sacrificed to take them to auditions even when they were barely booking because that's what the kid wanted. Lili Reinhart said her mom used to drive her to NYC for auditions from Ohio on the regular. Some parents moved to California without any real money and worked crappy jobs just so their kids could have a chance at their dreams.

So confused at why the doco talked about the Manchester bombings? Like what's that got to do with Taylor sure she said no to performing but got nothing to do with her albums/contract. Felt like they brought stupid useless info in the doco for his side that have nothing to do with it.
@KeepDriving204 ай бұрын
I believe Scooter brought up the Manchester bombing back in 2019 (I don't remember the exact details) when they were going back and forth just to try and make Taylor look bad for saying no. It has nothing to do with her masters/contract, but he used it as a way to further incite bad publicity for her. It's like saying "Look at me, I organized this beautiful thing after such a tragedy, and Taylor said no to participating and helping raise money for the victims and their families". Paint himself in a good light, and Taylor in a bad one. It was still fresh, and people were sensitive about the topic, so I bet he was banking on people not siding with her after learning that she refused to perform at the concert. It was such a slimy move on his end using a tragedy to make himself look good... I see they're still trying to use it as a bad thing against her in the documentary.
@katiefarewell4 ай бұрын
I honestly think her issues with Scooter were way before Kanye. One of her best friend's had a long and rocky relationship with one of Scooters artists years before everything. I wouldn't be surprised if Scooter's influence didn't impact that relationship. For me if people mess/hurt a friend it's the biggest red flag that they shouldn't be trusted. And then when the Kanye and social media bullying happened it's confirmed the red flags. The documentary barely scratches the surface of these people's relationships and history.

Watching this whole documentary series and ending it on Taylor’s side unequivocally is peak delusion. “If you’re going on contracts…” except she didn’t. She didn’t do it contractually. She did it in the court of public opinion.

Just seems that the final offer she was given was not the same as the opportunity Scooter was given. She may have just ‘bought’ them back if it was that clear a deal. Clearly she refused the deal she was offered for a reason. She was being held hostage with ultimatums it seems

I’d like to say I’m relatively neutral on this matter as I have issues with both people and we know Taylor knows how to benefit from a bad situation but this seems insanely biased. How’s his upbringing/ family history got anything to do with his business ventures? That feels a little too clasping at straws to have something good to say. (Edit: bringing up the terrorist attack at Ariana’s concert is CRAZY) On Taylor’s dad not attending the shareholder meeting, I think it depends on whether he usually attends or not. If he does and he intentionally chose not to attend this one, they must’ve known in some way what it was about. If he didn’t attend bc of Taylor’s beef with Scooter I think that’s a little odd. If my kid’s label was having a business meeting with the guy she hated I’d make sure I was in the room to make sure I knew what was going on. About her having a leg up: no amount of financial backing or connections can buy you success, if it did only rich kids would make it and that’s just not the case. A foot in the door doesn’t mean anything if you don’t have anything going for you. The whole thing about nepotism in the entertainment industry is blown way out of proportion in my opinion, considering it’s the most basic human concept and is not in any way exclusive to that industry. A family owned bakery is by definition nepotism, there are talented bakers out there who can’t afford to open their own business, nobody gets fired up about that so that’s an irrelevant argument
@Mia_M4 ай бұрын
He didn't attend because they were making them sign NDA's so he wouldn't have been able to tell his daughter who would own her music. Nepotism can get you pretty far though, just look at the recent case of North West being cast in The Lion King production at the Hollywood Bowl over kids with a theater background. There are plenty of untalented nepotism babies who get roles and can barely act.

Most artists do not own their Masters…Taylor has amassed enough success to even be in a position to even have had this option. That is a privilege most artists can only dream of. Taylor representing this like was a RIGHT that was denied her rather than an opportunity to get ownership of her work, is just another example of the persecution complex she has. Also, her father owned shares in Big Machine so he technically could have made money off the sale of her Masters-again in not at all a typical situation for most artists. It’s a good thing to have a more balanced view on Taylor, especially regarding this issue, because I don’t think it’s as simple as she is a helpless victim of patriarchy when she has a lot of power and privilege.
