​@@colinward1007 Speed isn't about everything, it's about how the car feels to drive - the overall responsiveness to driver input. I owned a Mercedes C250 petrol with the AMG sport pack and the engine has plenty of power / torque, but the car just feels the complete opposite of "sporty". It feels lazy and lethargic - like you tell the car to do something and it replies with "yeah yeah, hang on, I'll get to it in a minute". The throttle is slow to respond - you put your foot down and it feels like there is a good half second pause before the car actually responds. The gearbox shifts like a 1990s auto - it's nice and smooth but it takes FOREVER to shift, even in manual mode). The steering is nice and light and the wheel itself feels and looks great, but each movement feels like it takes more turn of the wheel then it should, and the wheel doesn't spring back to center as it does in most cars (you find yourself manually turning the wheel back to center, which can be annoying). The engine itself has plenty of power and torque. Once it wakes up and responds it's got more then enough pull and the acceleration feels quite strong - it's just really laggy and slow to respond. Overall the C250 is a lovely thing to drive when you're just taking a nice relaxed cruise to work on the freeway. It's unbelievably comfortable an easy to drive, so you can take a 2 or 3 hour drive and come out of it like nothing happened. But as soon as you try to drive it in any kinda of spirited way it just gives you a dirty look and says "what on earth are you doing?" - it just does not want to indulge you. It clearly was not built to be driven enthusiastsically - it was built for those who want to drive around in a nice comfortable luxury cruiser, but who want to look a little cooler and more stylish doing it.

The BMW is probably an all round better car but as a complet package on the outside the Audi is a better looking vehicle the lines are sportier and that is what sold it in my opinion.

This guy chose the right car. No matter what biased reviewers say, it's important to listen to the customers. We aren't all track drivers and our opinions count. The Audi represents excellent value in regards to refinement, handling, sportiness, Luxury, useability and looks. Build quality is excellent and that is evident when you first enter the vehicle. The BMW and Mercedes are excellent also and to be honest there is very little between the three. I'd happily own any of them, though I own and drive an Audi.

Rob, awesome job! I have A5 3.2L and it runs great and is very practical. I have the BMW E65 and the 2006 Mercedes Benz AMG. Both were great cars but I enjoy the Audi more. You get a lot more your money! You have guys making comments out jealousy. Bottom line is that car for and not them if they don't like it go kick rocks haters!

Audi is easily the best of the lot, i drive a 2015 A5 coupe with quattro and 225 tfsi engine along with S tronic gearbox. What a car, mine is fully loaded except with moonroof. It feels so tight and certainly looks the business in monsun grey metallic!

As said already, the customer was a bit camp, spoke a bit affectedly and was a dapper dresser. I quite liked him. It was a refreshing change from the street wise geezer approach often used. So liked the bloke but I was a bit surprised that a overly spec'd Merc was used in the comparison. It wasn't helpful.

whats a bit surprising about this test is a number of well known "UK" auto mags are always ragged about AUDI'S, but that dose not seem to be able to stop the mo-mention and rapid growth of the auto union brand in the UK and around the world .lets be honest AUDI, is making some of the very best cars and suv's on the road to-date not taking any thing away from BMW & MERC. +Ichigo Rahman Get a Lexus. Low maintenance cost and problem. Standard real leather and moonroof. Stunning fresh design. High reselling value. German trophy car would have no problem until the warranty runs out, while you certainly could drive a Lexus for a good 10 years with very minimal issues.

there great engines i got 2.0 tdi on the run 80mph 55mpg after remap 180bhp 52mpg. around town still get atleast 37mpg. my car is 2003 a3sport done 150000miles
