Still on my RFZ 125! 2020 17x14. After cracking open the stock carb she's been a great little bike. running at 1100 feet on sandy ORV trails. she loves a good 30-mile loop.

The flowy sandy trails are easy on her. I changed the fork fluid to a heavier weight to make it stiffer. she's a proper ditch banger now. @@AaronsEnduro

Nice riding! That's more difficult stuff than I do. What handguards are those? The ones I bought for my XTrainer don't fit as well. They are too tight around the clutch master cylinder and hose.

@@AaronsEnduro no issues smacking rims on the rocks at those low pressures? I think I have 12psi in my Xtrainer with stock tubes and always worry going much less than that.

To be fair im running 4psi when i know were doing techy rides where we aren’t blasting along in 4/5/6th gear. If i was i usually run around 10-12psi. But so far ive yet to ding the rim or anything with 110hours on my bike.

What would you pick Beta 300 xtrainer or ktm 300 xcw
@AaronsEnduro9 ай бұрын
Depends on your skill level and what you want out of a bike. I’ve ridden both, and they’re very different machines. Personally id still prefer my x trainer over a 300xcw as it stands. And id probably get a 300rr beta over any ktm just cuz i like beta’s

The beauty of the xtrainer is its mellow low-end torque. If you get comfortable with it and feel you need more snap, get a performance exhaust for a noticeable power improvement.

Hi Aaron, how do you smooth out the response for slower technical riding? I have a 2022 model and might install a larger 15 tooth sprocket. Also thinking about adjusting the power valve. I feel like this bike is more for wide open trails. If I look at the throttle wrong this bike just takes off. Thanks.
@AaronsEnduro9 ай бұрын
This bike kinda sucks in the wide open trails, the suspension and geometry is better suited to slower technical trail riding. Ive actually geared mine down from the stock 14 tooth to a 13 tooth up front. What i will say is i ride 99% of the time in wet map power mode when in the techy single track. I only ever use the “daytime” power map on big open flow trails
@AaronsEnduro9 ай бұрын
And yes adjusting the power valve will make a big difference in power delivery. Currently i have my nearly all the way wound out (i have about 1 thread left i could turn it further out). But if you wind it in 3 or 4 threads itll be much more tamed. Just dont turn it in too far or itll fall inside the power valve housing
