No one in the league is as shifty and agile on his feet. Right, left, front, back, with ease and speed, reacting to the movements of the players in front of him. Like a dog reacting to you when you try to catch it, it is instinct with agility and reflexes, it is something special. He is unique and as he reaches his potential and as his teammates learn to take advantage of him, he will be a point per game offensive defensemen.

Standard isnt high on the habs, but he kills a lot of plays with how aggressive he is on the board. There’s definitely some plays were you notice hes 5’10 170 but he is far from being a defensive liability. He is certainly a twisty, turny skater. It may look impressive, when he's on the outside of the defenders, but very rarely does he get by an experienced NHL defenseman. I've seen these guys before and as a defenseman, he may want to fashion his game after Cale Makar instead of forward Patrick Kane. 12 Points so far, not exactly setting the league on fire, but not bad for a rookie.

On maybe the worst team in the league… 20 out of 22 players on Montreal have a negative +/-, the best player having +1, and the worst -14. +/- is a meaningless stat without context. I’m shocked people still use it as an indication of individual defensive ability. It’s only really valuable as a comparison tool between players on the same team (and even then it can’t account for easier/harder deployment). Definitely reminds me of Makar when he first entered the league. Likely to get pushed around like Hughes in the playoffs due to his size though. Good thing he'll likely never be put in that position.
