I don't think the "how would you prefer to build a team" question is answerable without knowing more information about the All-NBA players. First of all, not all All-NBA players are created equally. Siakam and Haliburton have been All-NBA. And look at their record right now. But Jokic and Tatum are also All-NBA. You also need to know 1) how well those players fit together; 2) their health track record. I'd feel very good about having Jokic and Tatum in their 30s based on their health so far. Also, they make sense together. I would feel not very good about having Kawhi and Embiid for health reasons. And I'd not feel that great about having Jokic and Embiid, as amazing as they are, because the pieces just don't make sense together.

I strongly disagree that the Heat could be incentivized to trade Butler for Beal and a distant pick. Getting something is NOT always better than getting nothing. You're telling me that the Heat are going to be like "Well, we now have three score-first combo guards who don't fit together at all, and one of them is practically untradeable. But at least we've got this pick six years from now!"? I don't buy it.

Also, does Butler really have that much leverage? Where is he going if he declines his option? He's dependent on Miami to either trade him now or do a sign and trade. The threat of "If you don't trade me, I'll go play for the Brooklyn Nets" seems pretty empty to me.

Having a terrible contract and 1 pick vs a possible sign and trade later on or cap space or resigning him for cheaper. People just think the Heat or Detroit are gonna take garbage contracts to make podcasters happy to have another big 3

Butler to Suns all depends on if Miami doesn’t mind losing him for nothing. In terms of of team trade, Butler has leverage because at 36 with the opportunity to opt out of his contract teams aren’t going to give up assets for a 1year rental

Would OKC have the perfect roster construction or would Boston be the perfect roster construction?

not sure i follow. is this in reference to the 10-year window?

@HardwoodKnocksNBA No, i was just curious and wondering if OKC has the defense to stop Boston's offense, I know this is way out of topic 😂.
