All teams would be interested in having a player of his caliber, but he only plays about 60 games a year per his bio, and he is not getting younger. I think if I were a GM, I'd be looking at getting off my large contracts for his expiring one. Beauty and the eyes of the beholder story. Great show as always. 😊 It's time for me to poke the logs in the fireplace and call on super doobie, then watch the flames lap over the logs ... again & again ... chomping xmas candy all the way. (ho ho ho) Can you hear the crackling fire? From Venice CA 😎✌️

Interesting subject ... here it goes. I consider myself a casual fan who follows my home team ... have been for over 60 years. The sun doesn't rise and set around the sport. To begin with, I would rather walk a mile to the park with my dog and shoot free throws than sit on my ass and watch TV. This is my old-fashioned opinion here, in no particular order. Local games are not televised unless I have the special satellite channel, $ cha ching ... can't afford to buy a couple of tickets for the game, $ cha ching. Is league pass warranted when I want to follow the home team only? $ cha ching. I think not to all of them above. League doesn't make it easy to follow the team, far too many roadblocks .. $ cha ching ... How do I follow basketball today today? It's probably weird to most, but I watch ESPN Gamecast on cell phone and read each play. With this, I look at all games underway or complete and read results, jump in here and there with other teams in West Conference ... don't care about the east. The game itself? Players are all highly skilled, and there is no question there. All star game should simply be East vs. West, winning team $500k each, loser $250k. It's turning into a clown show, more so each year. Who has interest in mid-season playoofs with razzle dazzle floors? Not me unless my home team is in it. Games decided by a team taking 30 three's and 20 free throws is really, really boring to me. Maybe stop calling so many fouls and limiting three's to 20 a game or whatever, shots after that count as twos ... just an example. Far to many regular season games at 82. Yes, everyone wants to get paid, but the question is, fans like me are losing interest at some point. To me, as a fan, 60 regular season games is more than enough, 20 games will give me a good idea about a team, the second 30 games are trrade months with team re-engineering, and the last 20 games are a sprint to the playoffs. All playoffs are best three out of five, final best of 7. I DON'T want a 100-game season! Why are companies making large bids to stream games? Imo only, follow the money, and I'll wager there is some connection down the line to gambling. NBA has gone all in on gambling ... a decade back, it was a taboo subject. Should Adam Sliver be concerned about a casual fan like me keaving the fold? Probably not, but I can find far more interesting content on Utube, covering any subject you can imagine, than trying to follow the NBA. I'll simply tune out until the playoffs ... and follow you guys ... to stay up to date on all the latest facts & fancy 😊!! Hey, how ya doing, by the way? From Venice CA, peace. 😎✌️

I just think the 3 pt shot is too overpowered to use video game terms. It needs to be nerfed slighty*. It’s not that I don’t like the aesthetics, it’s just that it’s become so absurdly important. Ever since Monte has arrived, he has had to scrap together the rotation with shrewd moves and luck. Malik Monk contract before the Kings was for a minimum deal. Huerter required matching salary and a protected first. Lyles was a throw-in in the Bagley trade. Keon was an undrafted free agent. In addition to this, the Kings are NOT a free agency destination market due to the city size and being in a high-income tax state. That leaves the trades and the draft to fill out the team. Teams rarely trade their bigger wings and if they do, they get a Kings ransom for it. The last top-5 pick Sacramento had was 2022 which was acquired by pure luck and gave us the only great 2-way wing on the roster in Keegan Murray. All of this to say, of course, the Kings have size and length issues which is why they should see writing on the wall with the Fox Situation. This team needs a rebuild and Fox leaving provides cover to do that. This core has reached its ceiling. HOU, MEM, ORL, and other teams have built sustainable winners through the draft and the Kings should now take the opportunity to do the same. Trade Fox, Sabonis, DeMar, and Monk, and rebuild with Keegan, Carter, and the prospects you get in those trades. If Vivek wants a championship, then this is best course at this time. "The longest way round is the shortest way home."

If a tree falling makes no sound when no one hears it fall ... can a player be an mvp when his team only barely makes the playoffs? In other words ... how valuable can we consider a player if his team is is doing so badly. Another analogy ... if you pour the most delicious sauce ever made over a rotten apple ... how much value does that sauce actually give you? It all boils down to: the whole discussion about MVP is turning more into a discussion about what MVP means rather than discussing the abilities of the players. It is a boring and uninteresting discussion over semantics. We could fault the NBA for not describing precisely what this award is for. I DON'T fault voters for having different opinions about what MVP means.

As a New Orleans fan, I would accept any good rotation players for Ingram at this point. Idgaf about picks. Heck, give up a pick if you have to. The concern should be less about preserving the asset and more about having a roster that makes sense and the salary cap flexibility to keep your more intriguing players. I think Griffin is going to be stubborn and want to win the optics of the trade though. Which means no trade, probably.

I don't think the "how would you prefer to build a team" question is answerable without knowing more information about the All-NBA players. First of all, not all All-NBA players are created equally. Siakam and Haliburton have been All-NBA. And look at their record right now. But Jokic and Tatum are also All-NBA. You also need to know 1) how well those players fit together; 2) their health track record. I'd feel very good about having Jokic and Tatum in their 30s based on their health so far. Also, they make sense together. I would feel not very good about having Kawhi and Embiid for health reasons. And I'd not feel that great about having Jokic and Embiid, as amazing as they are, because the pieces just don't make sense together.

I strongly disagree that the Heat could be incentivized to trade Butler for Beal and a distant pick. Getting something is NOT always better than getting nothing. You're telling me that the Heat are going to be like "Well, we now have three score-first combo guards who don't fit together at all, and one of them is practically untradeable. But at least we've got this pick six years from now!"? I don't buy it.

Also, does Butler really have that much leverage? Where is he going if he declines his option? He's dependent on Miami to either trade him now or do a sign and trade. The threat of "If you don't trade me, I'll go play for the Brooklyn Nets" seems pretty empty to me.
