Thank you! I just ordered this ring last week and have already received it today. The fastest service I have ever gotten from China. Their website did not really show other colors other than the black and white, but there was one picture that showed what I thought was a blue ring. Blue is my favorite color so I put down my preference as blue. They sent the exact color blue that I love; it’s a periwinkle blue or tanzanite blue ceramic ring. This ring will save me the time and effort to find and have to bring my phone every time I want to go to my car for something. Just thought I’d mention this in case others might want a different color. They communicated very quickly in verifying the color I wanted via email. I ordered a smart ring from amazon a week ago and I just got it in the mail 2 days ago. Now all I need is my Model 3 “accessory” to pair nicely with my smart ring:) My 8 weeks of waiting for my car delivery will finally be over in about a week and a half! Thanks for sharing. I was also curious about whether it was waterproof. After your video I feel fairly confident that it is. I’m fairly new to the Tesla blogospheres, but out of the 10+ I watch, you’re my favorite Tesla channel so far. Dude, I am not believing that you would replace your wedding ring with this goofy thing?? No way! Think back to your wedding day when your precious wife slid that wedding ring on your finger, and all it meant to you, and all it meant to her, and compare that to the thought of trashing her gift to you for some dumb tech ring. No comparison! Every scratch and mark on the wedding ring ties back to some wonderful and irreplaceable life moment in your journey with your wife and your kids. I vote for keeping the enormously meaningful wedding ring and just wearing the other utilitarian car-opening one on a different finger. Your wife will thank you for it! :) Other than that, I just got a brand new Model 3 this year, started looking for helpful You Tube channels to assist with all my new car explorations, and yours is by far the best and most informative channel, so I promptly subscribed to and liked!

Normally I would agree with you and you are correct the ring from our wedding does mean a lot however most of the time the ring sits in a shiny nice box in my safe because I do a tone of stupid things like biking and such where my fingers get smashed and swell up so I wear the rubber ring most of the time. After 12 years of marriage my wife just wants something there she doesn't care what...her words. Congrats on the new car by the way!

You can always hold your phone up to the B pillar to always quickly unlock (especially great in -20 temps). Your phone works like a tesla card and is faster than bluetooth when bluetooth is delaying to unlock!

This works if bluetooth on your phone is the problem, it will use the NFC instead. But sometimes the Tesla app itself isn't working or crashed, so most times I actually have to open the Tesla app to get it to work.

The most common reason the phone doesn’t unlock your car is because it’s in your back pocket (or blocked by a solid object). The phone can’t “see though” your body and contact the sensors. Sometimes I’ll do a weird spin move when approaching the car so that it unlocks with the phone in my back pocket. Lol I considered buying this sort of RF ring a year ago but determined that there were zero advantages over the key card. My iPhone unlocks the car 100% of the time and I’ve got the key card in my wallet just in case (never needed it in 2 years). When the car is garaged the latest update keeps the charging port and doors unlocked!And you really need to carry the key card anyway for valet or service. Not comfortable carrying my credit cards and license inside the phone case because that’s already a big target for theft. You can’t really resize that ring but a jeweler can provide an insert that makes it snug.

I think a lot of people have the same experience. Most carry a wallet and the card is a perfect solution. I guess I am not getting it resized they are just sending me a new one. I almost never use valet but the time I have I was glad for it. That is a good point towards keeping the card on you.

Yes. Soak the key-card in acetone to expose the chip and antenna. There are youtube vids that show you how.

I wear it every day on my ring finger on the left hand with no problems. Every once in a while if my phone is having bluetooth issues I do have to place my hand real quick down by the cup holders but only just until it registers then I can take it away. It really is quite amazing.

Yeah, it’s really strange how they work. Some people report they do work with other models, but they only guarantee it works with a model three. I got it to work with my model Y, but they say it sometimes it doesn’t.

They should take the LED light out of the case and just make the product $5 cheaper. If I didn't have the key fob already I'd consider this. I carry a key card in my wallet, but my wallet is RFID safe and blocks the signal, so if my phone fails I have to physically remove the key card from my wallet.

You can get the ring on AMAZON for $10 off, but CF you get 15% off, a little better but still an expensive toy. BUT.......at the gym I use my Ipad and if I have my phone I have to turn off the 'bluetooth' so that two devices don't conflict and my earbuds connect only to the ipad. If I forget to turn 'bluetooth' back on - my Tesla thinks I'm a burglar or worse. So ........maybe this ring could be justified.

No. You’d never need to give a valet your phone or your ring! The car comes with 2 key cards. There are 1,000 places to hide the card inside the car so that you have it available for valet use. That’s what the cards are for!

Hiding the key card in the car is like locking your car and leaving the key in the ignition. Seems to me, the whole point of the ring key is to simplify (so you don’t have to lug the keycard in your wallet), and security (whenever you’re away from the car there is no way for someone else to drive it.)I would NEVER stash a keycard somewhere inside the car!

Richard Ashford No. You misunderstood. Leaving your key in the ignition means that ANYBODY can steal your vehicle (they can even see that it’s not secure from outside!). That’s just stupid. Hiding a key card in your car means ONLY YOU have access to it because ONLY YOU know it’s there. Did you forget there are TWO key cards?!? The one in your wallet prevents you from being locked out. And as you stated: if you wear the ring and don’t have a key card on your person (or hidden in the car) then you are stuck surrendering either your phone or your ring to the valet. Also dumb The key card is the solution that Tesla’s engineers devised. The ring solves nothing - it’s just a gimmick. That’s why nobody uses one
