Nah the US wouldn't destroy the dam in this manner. They would use spies to do it and blame it on Taiwan. This will cause China to invade Taiwan then the US can set in and do what it usually does. Play hero and seize power in the region for themselves. As long as Taiwan obeys US interests in the region. Nothing will happen for now.

Edit: Actually, VeeGames, I came here to smack someone about some newfangled fucking conspiracy theory, but your comment made me look this up and I appreciate it. Could this scenario be done in a Doolittle style raid where they fly completely through China into another countries airspace? Could we hit multiple targets with a flight of B2's, refuel/land in a 'stan location to ultimately fly to a base in the ME or Euro before bringing it stateside?

Yes the B-2 has a massive unrefueled range so it could potentially choose to exit the area however it chooses. The issue is that once the bombs impact the chinese would scramble every fighter available. Three Gorges dam is petty much the middle of China so no matter which exit you pick the B-2 is likely to encounter VERY pissed off fighters. Worse yet the B-2 crew can't allow the aircraft to be captured. The B-2 might have a better chance if Devil had timed other strikes to occur just after and just before the B-2 drops its weapons.

@Number1FanProductions2 жыл бұрын
Not to mention I don’t think any amount of money in the world will buy back support from any developed country if you killed 400 million innocent people, there’s a lot of white washing the west does but you that’s like comparing patching pinholes in a boat to trying to duct tape a 10 m hole from a torpedo explosion. Our government would collapse, half the military would out right refuse to serve anymore and the other half would most likely join them out of brotherhood. The country itself would dissolve into civil war because one side thinks this is the catalyst, america just murdered 400 million people this is too much yfm? It’s a fun scenario but it’s depressing to think there are people out their who want this to happen in real life
@phased-arraych.91502 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the destruction of the dam and the subsequent loss of life from the flood would be just as destructive as a nuclear strike. Floods have always been the bane of Chinese civilization.
@wafflepoet54372 жыл бұрын
It’s fucking staggering what the destruction of infrastructure such as the Three Gorges Dam can cause compared to even nuclear weapons. The immediate, short and long term consequences of destroying _just_ the dam would be the rough equivalent of expending dozens of nuclear payloads to massacre every man, woman and child in China’s five most populous cities. DDG’s thought experiment, if you will, casts light on the unjustifiable and inhumane doctrine of annihilating _civilian_ as well as military infrastructure, which describes (as we’re all aware) US military doctrine as a whole.

I think you were on the right track with the Growlers to keep their eyes on something else, but in a REAL strike on something like Three Gorges, there would be dozens of planes on other missions in order to distract attention from the main target. Or more likely, the strike on Three Gorges would be part of a massive coordinated attack on CCP key infrastructure, command and control and air defense targets. There would definitely have been cruise missile attacks as part of it, so the scenario needs one or two of the Ohio SSGNs in it as well. And not for nothing, I am pretty sure that after the B-2 attacked, the plan would have been for them to go to very low altitude to use terrain to hide, and they would take a much different route to get out. I could be wrong about that, but it definitely does not seem like taking a reciprocal route and staying at 35000 feet is gonna be an effective way to escape. But f**k...I really hope that it never comes to this...because if we hit Three Gorges, I expect that the CCP would consider it the same as nuking them, and they would be looking to nuke an American target of similar value ASAP. ✌✌
