The US and Saudi Arabia are nearing a defence agreement that could potentially reshape West Asia by bringing Israel and Saudi Arabia closer together. As per the pact, Riyadh will get US military protection and in return, the kingdom will engage with Israel for a potential normalisation of ties. The negotiations are a revival of talks that began last year but stalled after Hamas’s October 7 attack on Israel. Talks resumed in January this year and both sides have made significant progress, but a key sticking point remains. Saudi Arabia wants Israel to agree to a ceasefire in Gaza and commit to a path for Palestinian statehood. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly rejected this demand, making it difficult for the deal to proceed. The US is pressuring Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu by offering him a stark choice: join the deal and gain a powerful ally and economic benefits, or be left out and lose these advantages. Do some research first. And about Israel yes Israeli defense technology will be good for SA. But do u think Israel will just gave away their best defense technology to an Arab state? Plus, SA considers itself as Leader of Islamic World. So, it isn't a good option to take defense technology from Israel for public image. Again, some heat has been cooled down since Iran and SA now in Diplomatic ties. So, SA isn't in dire need of Israeli defense technology.
