in nz primary producers are " price takers not price makers " the middlemen are taking the " cream" for doing very little . Return on investment for the majority of nz farmers is uneconomic it is only ego , pride , family farm association , & lack of a transferable skill that keeps them going . It really is a shocking situation to be caught in . Times have changed .

Thanks Tim, brilliant snapshot of the issues faced by broad acre grain farmers. Before I retired, I worked in the ag area as a rep, and I was hearing about these issues then. I hope that Greg & Andy keep motivated and feeding the nation. Cheers
