I'm liking 2v2 Aim Arena and MacGuffin the most so far. I'm still easing my way into the 1v1 Duel, lol.

When Macguffin died and wipeout became the most popular mode i left. I want non stop instant respawns until the round is over. Clan Arena type modes kill AFPS

Yeah I really enjoyed macguffin. Wipeout is fun when the teams have a good balance

I just discovered this game and I can't wait to start playing but unfortunately my gpu died recently and I have a replacement gpu at the moment which is not that great but I'm planning to get a better one as soon as possible
@Dankfrankest4 жыл бұрын
You might even want to give it a try on that replacement GPU. Diabotical isn't a particularly demanding game. No guarantees, but if your GPU can run any kind of 3D game, this one might surprise you with its performance.

the problem with arena shooters is simply the gun play and yet they're over all quake 3 clones, if a arean shooters were to comeback it would be game that combines the movement of titanfall 2 with halo:ce shields and gunplay

If the US community isn't full of racists and dominated by Clan Arena, then it will already be better than Quake Live. I don't think it can save the genre though just being a Q3A "clone" and an Epic Store exclusive.
@Dankfrankest4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I'd definitely rather boot it up through steam, myself.
@StudMuffin69_4 жыл бұрын
I think the epic deal is good personally because on steam the player count is public and if that player count drops slightly everyone's going to be calling it a dead game then new players will not try the game. The epic store also has less games so it would be easier to find.
@justsomeguy83854 жыл бұрын
@@StudMuffin69_ seems like a very post hoc rationalization there. I doubt anyone would have actually wanted this game to be an EGS exclusive based on those weak reasons. The fact of the matter is, the player pool for EGS is significantly smaller than Steam because many potential players aren't even going to try the game if they have to install the EGS launcher. And there is no linux support for EGS launcher as well. Considering how AFPS games have always had a decent percentage of Linux players, it's only a negative to leave those players out.

It's an awesome game but unfortunately in these times is very difficult that the genre will comeback, Battle Royale games with aim assist are necessary for people with no skills and these games require aim, map control, movement, the same happens with fighting games SF5 is a game with huge comeback mechanics, diabotical, Quake and UT have a high skill ceiling and kids today don't want to work for anything.

@@Dankfrankest Well tell me if that isn't true? back in the day, FPS arena games used to be the main focus, you really had to be good. Now you take a controller and literally can headshot your opponent what is the fun on that?, hyper scape is a new FPS released by Ubisoft required to have knowledge is an FPS arena with certain aspects of BR guess what it failed...
@Dankfrankest4 жыл бұрын
@@HAL_-sg1up Yeah, no I agree with the sentiment mostly. I think people will still always appreciate high skill ceiling games, even if they aren't the titles dominating twitch or whatever. It's kinda like everything else, the vehicle for exposing new audiences to a n unfamiliar interest is usually the most accessible. I laughed because I've always appreciated incredulous ridicule for "lowest common denominator" material (I'm one of those insufferable elitists).

As much as I like diabotical, I still preffe quake champions (qc), yes there may be a bug there and here, but qc is actually getting love from the developers, its in a way better state then release

Annnnnnd the player base is already dwindling down to very low numbers. I'm not sure why anyone thought it a good idea to recreate a game in a genre that most people just don't want anymore. Quake didn't lose its player base because of a lack of support. The lack of support came after quake lost financial viability. So no, this wont save arena fps games. They just are to competitive for the current gaming population.
@Dankfrankest3 жыл бұрын
Another problem is the community, there are plenty of quakers, but they're all infighting about which quake game is the "correct" one to play.

This type of online games has always had a small niche of players, solid, but constant, they are very frustrating games for beginners. Anyway, DBT is dead already..:(

Yeah, here I am crossing my fingers ID will revitalize Quake 1 and include a world-class arena shooting experience (without champions). Now that they're done with Eternal...ya know...maybe
