Just bought this reel. Can't wait to give it a go. What pound test are you using? Also, what rod did you pair it with? I went with their Kestrel 5'9" Feather Light. May end up buying a longer rod for different techniques, but I think it'll be a dandy for river smallies.

Yep, that reel is over braked and won't cast far.

Exactly what I was trying to do and I’m still brand new with the Baitcaster bird nest twice on a slx dc but I’m getting better at it

DC reels are odd since you rely heavily on the module. Slx DC is also too heavy if a spool to cast this light I believe

@@rawrfishing yeah I had to add weight lol but it’s all good it’s a learning game all my friends have em so I got one to join the team but I foul handed it twice lol buts it’s a learning game and I’m getting better I can actually cast it now lol

Keep at it! I prefer folks to try and learn how to cast using a magnetic braking reel first. Understand the Mechanics of a reel and how an angler needs to adjust the reel is majority of the battle! If u haven't watched my video on how to cast a baitcasting reel, I highly recommend it!

Daiwa legalis 1000 $60 10lb braid 10lb fluorocarbon leader and $50 daiwa aird coastal 7,6 medium action rod . There is no need for short casting bfs .

No it's not whether it could be. It's a fact. Go ahead and just count the amount of steps to cast a spinning reel VS a BC reel. To properly reduce line twists on a spinning reel, manually closing the bail and ensuring line is on the roller is crucial!

@rawrfishing I know what you mean, but spinning reels can cast farther almost every time with different lures. Now, when it comes to accuracy and quickness, bait casters are better

Distance is not what I need. But if that's what u need. Go for it. Spinning reels for my fishery is not superior
