I grew up in Toronto. Toronto became an anti-car city back in the early seventies with speed bumps that no one asked for, opposing one-way streets, and closing off side streets to through traffic. If you funnel traffic through only main thoroughfares, of course you will create the very gridlock you claim to be trying to solve. What used to be a good, four-lane road like Danforth is a perfect example. Claiming to make it bicycle-friendly was comically stupid - especially now with motorised "bicycles" barrelling along at speed. It is now a nightmare for pedestrians, especially for handicapped pedestrians. It is now also a drivers' nightmare to be avoided if possible.

Yep, and people can't even ride bikes in winter times when so many months are below 0 with snow on the ground. And Canada has long winters the bike lanes are just useless.

Bad signage. If the through traffic is not allowed, then why is there a Green light facing traffic.

People know what they are doing...they are fed up with all the lane closures on Richmond, Adelaide, Queen and Lakeshore. Get traffic moving, temporarily open up King until construction is resolved.

There are lane reductions due to construction on Richmond, Adelaide, Queen Street and Lakeshore...the King St Pilot should be temporarily paused until construction on east/west arterial roads is resolved.

I have to say the signs are very confusing. It’s often a tourist trap near me at King and Bathurst. Cameras will just mean more revenue for the city. Also it’s very difficult for locals to get around. It takes me 15-30mins longer to get home because I have to go around the block to follow these rules. If we’re going to make rules - it helps if they’re intuitive to follow and punish bad behaviour as opposed to cash grabbing for ignorant behaviour. Also it’s really hard to read some of the writing on these signs it’s so small.

Most part of the roads are under construction, single file lane are made in a space, where one vehicle can barely move forward. The street signs are barely visible between construction and road closures. Most of downtown Toronto is filled with vehicles from big sized truck to a small cycle. While road safety is important, instead of only levying fines a better roadways is also important.

Bottom line, if you follow all the so called rules when driving downtown it will take years off your life

My opinion: People driving should be allowed to go straight through the intersection. I strongly support the no left turn signage, and leading right turn arrow phasing. There are many roads under construction, which reduces options for roadways to take as a through route. With the current rules in place, my advice would be to only use King St, if you are planning to use it for a block or two. But drivers should be allowed to go straight. It just doesn't makes sense to ban unauthorized vehicles. The fact that people are regularly ignoring the "no going straight" rules, will hopefully soon get the city to realize that not allowing through movements is a bad idea. People will always continue to ignore the "no going straight rule", until they allow through movements again.

This has now changed to the light being ALWAYS red. Separate bicycle and Transit signal are installed. City should now put in red light camera and it can pretty much run it 24/7, dismissed the streetcars and ticket all other traffic going thru as running a red light for $325.

So obviously this intersection should be allowed to go straight through. According to the road it goes straight but can't make a left. Can't go straight. So everyone has to go right. Add predestination traffic what a stupid intersection. Almost on the boarder line actually would say past the boarder of entrapment. Can see why police don't want to enforce that intersection would feel so sleezy if I was a cop handing out a ticket for going straight on road that goes straight.

Most people who drive Toronto streets have no idea what a green light means. Every driver knows red. Amber light is a mystery to most…An Advance Green is a total disaster for all drivers…

.........Businesses will move away from Toronto and young people will leave. You no longer have any quality of life living in Toronto. The traffic is terrible. You move way more traffic with buses and cars and not with bicycles. These bike lanes have definitely made the traffic worse. And it hurts businesses. We have parks and nature trails. The bikes belong there away from the cars and trucks and buses. Keep adding bike lanes and you will hollow out your jobs and businesses. No one wants to sit in traffic all day. You will end up with a city of bicycles and with no jobs to go to. People will leave.........

Those dame streetcars are the worst ...they should of made them 4 time s as long So no one can pass them !!!! Hence the reason for gridlock
@edwardwong87162 ай бұрын
just get rid of parked cars and make a designated street car route, problem solved!
@juliogonzo27182 ай бұрын
So where are they supposed to park then?
@Ontheroadagain15 Жыл бұрын
Why are the streetcars sooooo long. So hard for a car to get around them cause they are a half a block long. They stop after the intersection - that doesn’t help. Often they are 90% empty and take up most of the road. And my gosh how slooooow they drive. They road hogs have messed up the roads. Atleast buses are smaller and faster. Who approved these streetcars :(

Remove streetcars. Make space for toronto electric rental vehicles instead for the extra city of Toronto revenue.

Lol.. no .. electric vehicles are bad for the environment. They should open up king st. Especially with the subway work on queen.
