I've never had more than one day without cigarettes, and now I'm one week away from them, thanks to vaping. Main goal is to stop in the long run, btw I rarely vape, only some puffs a day. My weak point is when someone around is smoking, so I'll keep the pod around, but I don't want to touch any cigarette ever again

Also YES!! I quit a 2 pack a day 33 year long habit strictly due to vaping. I tried everything under the sun to quit smoking but nothing worked until I was introduced to vaping and it still took me almost a year to fully quit but I did finally quit. It's been almost 8 years now since I've touched a cigarette and I'm so much better off. It's just a matter of finding the right flavor and nicotine strength to give you what you need to accomplish quitting. You'll be glad you tried it because it actually works.

Yes. 100%. I used it to quit smoking after a pack a day for 25 years. The 6mg/ml helped me step down from cigarettes. Then down to 3mg, then 1mg, then 0mg then an air inhaler stick. 6 months nicotine free!

It's not just the hand to mouth habit. I have quit in the past without a vape using an unlit cigarette. I obviously started smoking again after some months. It depends on the individual. If someone has a stressful life or some anger issues etc from trauma or just a stressful life, smoking is a coping mechanism. Smoking is a time out / quiet time. A lot of people use smoking to sooth themselves so when you take that away, it causes them to experience a flood of uncomfortable emotions. A lot of heavy long terms smokers experience some personality changes - anger, depression etc and the experts say it's nicotine withdrawal. It's not. Vaping is a good way to wean off cigarettes and still provides a mental crutch. My friend was raving about his wonderful health after quitting smoking a few years ago, however, he is going through a nasty divorce and almost lost his mind with anger, depression, anxiety and stress - after many months of torturing anyone around him he bought a vape and it had helped to calm him.. Instead of flying off the handle, he vapes for a few minutes. There are stronger reasons people fail to quit and the psychological aspect is overlooked.

Is Vaping a way to quit? Well idk .... And we don't know or probably. I've heard everyone say they felt better after vaping. Doctors only know what's studied or proven or researched OR GOOGLED OR SOMETHING FROM A BOOK. Or what they witnessed. Now idk what harms vape brings but I been smoking and I do feel a lot better after vaping.

What if they are already dx with oral cancer?
@paulmcnamara21842 жыл бұрын
mmm, when you are advising/recommending NRT to your patients do you inform them that they have about 5% success rate? Or do you simply repeat the safe official line that they are proven and safe?
@samirgupta56492 жыл бұрын
First of all, when you combine short and long-acting NRT with counselling (which we do in our program), it's better than 5%. Look it up. Second of all, if I could get even 5 our of 100 people to quit, that's 5 lives I've changed for the better, forever. 1 life would be enough to justify it, especially when they are proven and safe.

@@samirgupta5649 they aren't proven safe 🤣 they are only proven less harmful than cigarettes, but they haven't even been around as long as cigarettes were before doctors figured out the problems

Thank you. It's simple if you can't quit,better switch to a 95% safer product vaping.
@samirgupta56492 жыл бұрын
The 95% number has been thrown around a lot but if you look at its origins, it's an estimate. We don't know that it's 95% less likely to cause long term health issues - that's something we simply don't know yet. Time will tell. I hope it's true.
@@samirgupta5649 There's no reason why scientists cannot look at the known data and extrapolate the likely risks. The is the basis of climate science. It is what scientists do. Claiming that we don't know whether climate change is real is likely to get you banned from respectable company and labeled a science denier. In Tobacco Control it is the exact opposite. These issues around vaping have little to do with evidence and a lot to do with vested interests in public health.

Sir I have a question ⁉️ what is the absorption rate of nicotine in vape? I mean if I vape 1ml 50mg e liquid how much will be absorbed in the body?
@joshrepik Жыл бұрын
I smoked for 12 years, pack and a half a day. I finally moved to vape only, and it’s been 5 and a half years. I get sick far less often, when I do get sick it’s less severe and more short lived, and when I climbed towers I could climb 2.5 times as high without a rest. May be anecdotal, but it’s worked for me. Also, I use a regulated dual 18650 mod with a refillable tank and replacement coils. I can’t stand the elf bars or Hyde’s or whatever expensive disposables are out there. I spend about $65 a month on my habit rather than the exorbitant expense of cigarettes or the $40+ a week buying the disposables cost

Where can I buy the dual vape? Trying to quit smoking myself, just bought elf bar today and hate the tickle it gives my throat. Just want as close to cigarette smoke as possible with vape
