Belgium is the underdog, currently number 17 in the ranking, but I'm not surprised. They played quite good in the European Championship (they were in the toughest pool, a little bit unlucky) and now they play even better, they improved a lot in such a short amount of time.

One might thought that after a long season where these teams have also played multiple tournaments, you would have an idea who are the strongest but apparently not. This is even more impressive underdog story than the one of Germany, could never have predicted this generation of Belgian men gaining an Olympic ticket, at least not at this point. Now it shows how maniac was the Euro Volley group in Italy.

Well, I'm surprised that Belgium will most likely qualify as the next team after Poland. Their form was kind of shaky before this tournament (and that generation of their volleyball team was considered supposedly 'mediocre' at best), but they mobilized themselves very well for this one, and play pretty impressive volleyball. Before this tournament I would bet on Argentina being the other one, and maybe Holland as a potential 3rd contender. Also, their younger generations won medals in tournaments, so there is a future for this national team as well. So congratulations Belgium. You are so very close to securing this spot.

What do you mean of all teams? Belgium is 2nd in their pool now and they only lost to Poland and Argentina in 5 sets. They are playing great volleyball lately
