Tom Nook canonically donates 90% of his money to an orphanage in another city, presumably where he adopted Timmy and Tommy from. Maybe his business practices lean towards unethical at times, but he's not hoarding his wealth. Who knows, maybe the villagers who move in with you at the beginning were orphans that Tom decided to help out.

that's if he does it though because a lot of dialogue indicates that his donations may be a bit sketchy

the acnh Nintendo switch is 35,960 bells. In the real world an acnh Nintendo switch is 37,980 Japanese yen so a Japanese yen is 1.06 of a bell. So the fully upgraded home is 5,424,761.90 yen or 38,459.85 in us dollars.

One thing you are forgetting about is that the player's island probably isn't the only island canonically owned by tom nook. While he might not get *as much* money from each island, and maybe there aren't *really* 4 million islands or whatever... but if we consider that timmy and tommy show you some islands at the start and also ask you if you want to be in the northern or southern hemisphere, there is the implication that Nook owns a bunch of land he is flipping to a lot of people. Plus, he must have a lot of capital to start this operation in the first place, left over from the previous games. While his operations in your player town in prior games are very... well... local, he might make a killing elsewhere. So in short, I don't think you can acurately calculate how much money Tom Nook has. It is nice to know how much of a profit he is making off of my dumb ass, though

Just a heads up that there is a lot of volume issues going on in this vid. For example at 18:07 the audio gets really quiet and then gets loud again. I tested it on multiple speakers and browsers and it's very unlikely a problem on my end. No hate at all. I thought you would want to know so you can look into it on your end :) Still enjoyed the video though!!

So, since Nook covers the initial island getaway package and you don't pay until you upgrade to a real house, hypothetically, you could go the island, have a sweet vacation, and go home at no cost?

I kind of figured the bells in Animal Crossing were calculated similarly to Japanese yen because Kicks sells things for between like 400-2,400 bells or something in a given sitting. Something like 2,400 bells for a pair of shoes or pants, I wouldn't think $24 USD for those things in the real world would be outrageous so I just imagine a decimal in front of the 00s or 99s in those prices.

A few people I seen took the price of a switch in game in compared it to a switch irl (since it's the only item and game that has a consistent irl) to get how much a bell is worth

Both Animal Crossing Bells and Pokemon money are 1 to 1 equivalent to Japanese Yen, I forgot where I heard this but it makes sense that a kid would only have enough money to buy an apple before you Hyper Beam their Magikarp.

@little_finger11 ай бұрын
city folk should be remastered. The biggest problem was the Wii controls. If you fix that, up the graphics, bring new features and qol improvements, you can have the definitive old school animal crossing pre mayor experience.

you didn't account for the fact that each island can accommodate 8 players, thus multiply how much 1 player's house is by 8, because a full nintendo switch can have 8 profiles and all 8 profiles can make a villager on a single island
