I really liked Damien, who I didn't know at all before this. I thought Damien did a great job and I really enjoyed watching him cook and listening to him talk as he did. He had a calm manner about him which I really enjoyed because it contrast with the real chefs more over the top manners of presentation. Damien was just the right amount of Damien, he was trying but not trying too hard. He was charming, funny and amusing. I really wanted his dish to win because he won me over with his personality. Damien, you should demand a rematch!

Leeks are the Welsh national vegetable. Every year when we celebrate our patron saint St David on St David's day (1st march) we have a tradition called "Eat the Leek" where a group of young people (18 year olds) compete to see who can eat the whole leek the quickest and then down a pint of beer. One leek is normally spiked with a hot chilli sauce just to "spice" things up. Would make for a GMM skit too. 😉

Just a fact. The beer Damien used is weihenstephan-Beer. Ist from the oldest still active brewery of the world. It comes comes from Bavaria, about 30km north of Munich. Something to learn for everybody. 😂😂
