9:52 The answer to that question is a great example of why you shouldn't just look at your kda when you play. Distracting the enemy team from doing what they are supposed to do is exactly what you want. Especially if the enemy support is paying attention to you instead of the enemy tank that's on low hp

Honestly, I agree but focusing on that playstyle makes you extremely dependent on your team for wins. If you have both supports on you but the frontline is rolling yours because your tank/supps suck, you're just contributing to the throw, haha. Talking from experience here. It's one of tbe reasons Sombra is so embarassingly bad on ladder. Unless you have amazing mechanics you end up relying on others way too much to make space for you or take the space you create.

@@penrilfake Yeah Sombra kind of has to rely on the team a bit to follow up with whatever opportunities you create but Overwatch is a team based game. You can have amazing mechanics and blast everyone on dps but it won't mean much if your team is getting rolled anyway. Yeah cool you got 2.0 kda but the match score is 0-3 so it doesn't really matter. But if your team isn't completely inept taking the attention of both enemy supports is as Sombra might not look flashy but it is really impactful. You can even see how Fitzy doesn't really go for flashy kills but rather opts to pester the supports so that they waste valuable cooldowns on him like Ana grenades, Protection Suzu, etc. people focus on getting kills at all costs way too much and it leads to losing their games and frustration because "I have 20 elims and only 5 deaths how did I lost"

I have a question, If I'm playing a character such as sombra is it better to have high dps or getting a backline support pick every team fight? I literally had a game where I got flamed by not having much damage, my only comeback was getting picks which they respond picks don't win fights.

I'm not a sombra pro by any means but I feel like it's not unusual for her to have low damage. And I also feel like getting a pick early in their backline DOES win fights, especially if its a support?

having more dmg generally means your doing more for your team but if you are securing consistent picks you have nothing to worry about, picks do win fights its just then making sure you get back into the fight quickly afterwards and disrupt the remaining enemy team.

Picks absolutely DO win fights, especially if they're a support.

Having more damage means you get more ultimates, but also enables enemy support ultimates more. Depending on which support that is, and who's playing them, you doing too much damage but not killing them might lose you a future fight
