I've owned my 94 FD3S Type R in chase white for more than a decade. It was my 30th bday present that I bought for myself. And every time I parked it and started walking away I had to turn back and give it a loving stare. You're right...the future of car design is pretty bleak...thanks for the vid.

My father used to be a car mechanic at an NSU dealership :-) Most people outside Germany have totally forgotten about NSU, except maybe for the hillclimb used TT or TTS.

I owned an FD3 for only a couple of months because of the fuel consumption, but my word, what a car. Mine had 400bhp, but outwardly looked standard. 1992 car. Utterly amazing things.

Agreed with it all. The RX-7 is Mazda’s magnum opus. The only thing I would say if they do sound amazing with a Bridgeport and aftermarket exhaust 😅

Like many of its JDM contemporaries, and as you said, these cars had achieved what today seems like the sweet spot for enthusiastic driving/drivers/owners> From then on cars just kept being put under more and more regulations that have taken the "perfection" away. I had the choice between a mazda 323 gtr and a rx7 (not spirit R) few years back went for the gtr because of production numbers kicking myself now such a beautiful timeless shape

Unmodified or barely modified they're simply wonderful. Once you do what I did and turn one in to a mad, bad, stupid race car they're farking exciting & a bit frightening at times. But they're not quite as good overall as a nice road car. I honestly wish I'd never butchered mine even though I love how mad it is.
