You raise a good awareness on dualing for those official lightsabers for new comers to the saber scene. I personally never had duel with my Master Replica Luke's Lightsaber (A New Hope). It was a b-day present and I only ever displayed it. This year, I found myself getting a 89sabers graflex, neopixel installed by korbanth (expensive). Again, display only because my adult brain tells me electronics will not take any battering. After much research and hearing people with experiences, I opted to get a inhilt LED saber for whenever I ever meet someone with a lightsaber to duel with. As custom neopixel blades go, there are thick walled blades available, expensive, I may get one for medium dueling. I'll stick to spinning the sabers for now. : )

I have made 2 lightsabers, one done with an empty deodorant bottle, a little modeling clay (biscuit) and lots of inks and brushes to give a nice finish to it. The other with actual scrap parts that were going to become garbage. I assembled it all like a real jedi and gave it that real nice finish by painting and weathering it. I also have a lightsaberforge ahsoka tano lightsaber and an elemental nature savi's workshop that I now duel with, thanks to this video (i've got the purple and green kyber cristals, whick look amaziiiiiing)! Great job guys, delivering great info with amazingly fun videos! Keep it up!

Here's the thing, you don't fight with replica and inaccurate swords. You fight with real swords that don't have all the extras. These lightsabers are meant for flourishing. If you get neopixel, get heavy grade. They'll hold up longer and you can still replace the blade if it breaks. I only duel with RGB sabers though

I believe you are totally right John. It just took time and our own experiences to understand why. We do have the heavy grade blades but when we are working on choreography we use our stunt sabers. Just made a video about them. 👍🏻

I don't have a dueling partner, but i think I'd be comfortable doing so with Savi or legacy sabers due to the replaceable blade. My fx sabers get swung but not into one another.

I made my own lightsabers out of a combination of PVC and pool noodles for dueling they are safe to hit one another with and are pretty resilient... And best part is if one breaks it's only $10-$20 to replace it plus you get a second one free... If you have questions please feel free to reach out... My boys love them and they swing HARD

My brother and I got a block series saber for us both a few years back. He, a darth Vader. Me, a Luke Skywalker ROTJ. They were really heavy and we could hardly swing them at first. As time went on we would duel outside all the time with them. At one point, my brothers Darth vader black series blade broke off completely, leaving him with only a hilt. Cool, but not that fun considering that I had one that worked. After a while, my Luke saber developed some dead LEDS, the exact spot where the Kyle ren leds died in the picture. We were probably in the youngling/padawan status. But we always had fun, but all good things must come to an end...

Artpixel has some $120 smooth and simple heavy duty ones for tricks and showing off dueling. Much cheaper loss and good to practice choreography till you get a full routine down and can get a proper costumed duel performance going for a talent show.

My custom saber is awesome but my Luke Skywalker Legacy Saber i bought on Black Friday seems more sturdy. The Pach Store gave me a good deal on my Flyte saber but now the blade feels flimsy even it it is a heavy duel blade!

@@koltonchristian3148 Well, that's a good question. I think the same rules apply with most of all the Legacy sabers. Light/Med is likely to be safe. But because I think these sabers are better souvenirs than dueling tools... there is always a risk. A risk that we are willing to take! 😉

Hey Flopper, that's a great question. The Fisto has a removable blade but the Ventress does not. But to answer your question I would recommend being very gentle. We learned from experience that these kinds of sabers are a lot of fun but made mostly with plastic parts inside that can warp and snap.

Great question Jarrett, thanks for the comment. Unfortunately we have not gotten a chance to experience building a droid in the droid factory. However, on opening day I did purchase and R2-D2 of the same design. We actually got him custom painted and we're looking to get him a custom voice chip. Dueling with these light sabers could depend on what the blades are made of if it's a plastic blade then yes I would think it's safe to dule if it's a glass or plexiglass blade then i would say no it's more of a collector/ prop item
