It's day two of our visit to the Lake District, and the weather was not looking good. Wet, windy, dull, and gloomy but not too cold although Helen was wrapped up like an Eskimo. On the drive in we had a glimmer of light and capture a distant shot of the Langdale Pikes. With such crap conditions my thoughts were , can we get some light today. I hope you enjoy the video.

Some incredibly glorious scenes! Although I dare say that Tarn Hows in the Autumn would be just fantastic!

Some of my favourite landscape photography moments have come at Tarn Hows, great to see the place again and some nice shots of the cabin Craig.

Hi Dave, Loads of potential there, when you think through the seasonal changes and also cycle through the great weather conditions that can occur. A place to return to. Thank you for watching.

The secret in your favorite shot was eliminating the sky. Liked it as monochrome and color nice shot. Thanks as always for taking us along.

Hi Craig I can't believe you've never visited Tarn Hows before it's one of my favourite locations when in The Lakes. Ideally you need mist to get the separation for that tree on the island otherwise it's just lost against the background (believe me I've tried on multiple visits 😊) Did you know about Tom Gill Falls? They are a series of cascades that run down from the tarn to another NT Car park (Glen Mary Bridge) they're definitely worth visiting when at Tarn Hows. Also there's a fantastic location sitting above the tarn called Tom Heights (it's an area similar to Holme Fell with stunning 360° views especially looking towards my favourite fells The Langdale Pikes. It's not an easy location to get to (I go a different way every time 😊 but definitely worth it) I'm glad you found the spooky in summer house 👻 that's a fantastic location isn't it?

Hi Paul. Even though we have been to the lake district a number of times there has always been somewhere else on the list. I was not aware of a waterfall but noted for next time (autumn visit).I did notice a few routes to walk up but with having her ladyship in toe I had to pace the visit. She was not a fan of the boggy walk down to the spooky house but once it came into view she clicked away with her iPhone. Tarn How's definitely has a lot more to offer and will need multiple visits. Thank you for watching.
