After two weeks the smell is almost completely gone. The last hurdle is removing the odor from the seats. Thanks to all recommending an ozone machine. That may be the final step.

An ozone machine would be more effective and wouldn't require taking the car apart.

Clever idea the chlorine. The general rule is to clean before disinfection. On soft materials a bit of steam after surface cleaning will open the pores for additional cleaning and clearing. Once dry, disinfection can be accomplished. Keeping with the chlorine theme, you might try a product called Clean Smart for the final disinfection, followed up by a scented leather conditioner. Be sure to let us know how successful you were removing the cigar and smoke odors.
