The problem is PREJUDICES deeply ingrained in the culture from the ages of jahilia... Honestly westerners are much more advanced psychologically and emotionally by default as the society is not pressured by cultural pressure but rather the ability to live and let live is truly the reality since there is no compulsion in religion. Plus having been a convert it took me time to learn my deen and with increase of knowledge i naturally embraced more conservative practices like hijab and slowly i left the bad things about American culture. However marriage to a native iraqi who is 15 years older (he was very youthful and now he has regressed into toddlerhood of emotionally disregulated, hot head,and this all bc of the cultural plague of judgemental and shame based fear honoring ones dignity or the family. Dignity is not debasing yourself by doing shameless unislamic things as a normal way of maintaining one's dignity (more like ego)... Iraqis know what I'm talking about. But after 18 years of marriage we moved closer to iraq and things were better in the west, but the pressures of cultural condemnation for what is judged as shameful seems to be stronger the closer we get to iraq. Come to find out he is ashamed of his wife and family. The first to marry outside his culture and to an American of all people.... Now it comes to a point where I must maintain true dignity and self worth and not allow myself to be continuously shamed and disrespected because im western in so many ways, yet as an American woman who has grown up with the idea of equality and partnership between man and woman and a culture of activism and speaking out against all forms of injustice, even to our own government, without fear of retribution or endangerment and wholeheartedly believing it is my right and everyone is entitled to the freedom of speech, religion, protest, and the pursuit of happiness (the actual ideals of being an American but i admit, its an illusion in this day and age having been systematically eroded by the corruption that has spread on the earth in the form of tge dajjalic system) but these ideals come in direct confrontation of cultural norms n and expectations inherent in iraqi men. Yes they embrace the west but especially when the children come, its only natural subconsciously for all men to revert back and to mirror what he thinks family is supposed to be and his expectations of his wife is now compared to his mothers examples as it's the only example of what motherhood is to him. Its natural and from there with the weight of the responsibly of raising a honorable family and the direct juxtaposition he had been totally accepting of, now is suddenly increasingly critical of and ashamef of... Its real, the process of finding one's identity when you don't quite fit the mold and its a huge part of the difficulties faced by our society. If we were to address these issues adequately it will surely help the newest generations embrace admirable qualities of all cultures and help us eradicate old ignorant ways of thinking. This is a discussion that needs to be had with all western sisters and brothers because culture clash and the male influence is not at all a part of the Islam, nor is it the practice of Prophet Muhammad SAWS the Ahlulbayt, and it's in fact haram, and hinders the realization of what society could be like with implementing pure Islam. Of course we await the return of Imam Mahdi AJF Allah SWTs Promise. It is our responsibility to embrace all who come to Islam and together try and elevate our societies and this is truly preparing, truly an act of waiting. This jahilia has time and time again been associated as a practice and part of Islam and needs to be separated from the association with Islam.... I truly believe the TRUE status of women IN Islam... is much more than the mans ego can accept and this is evident in the History of mans use and adulturation of the messages from our creator.. Time and again, to serve mens arrogance and desires. Women who are respected, whose talents are celebrated and who's status is honored by their fathers brothers are validated properly and naturally gaurd their dignity and marry the same quality man, of which it is a mutual reception of fulfilling eachother and is a partnership that can only grow n stronger in this type of environment. And my evidence is the status of Fatimah Zahraa SA in the Eyes of Allah SWT, and her hidden secret Zainab. Its said really to know Who they are and their status is beyond man's ability. Now how do I maintain respect for myself and dignity in my own house, sadly having exhausted every option over the past 3 years, the truth is, if i stay and continue on this cycle, i essentially allow myself to not matter, to become nothing, to disrespect myself into nonbeing. This i model for my children is extremely degrading and harmful. My struggle is i as a westerner want my children and my rights, but a part of me fears an iraqi man with nothing to lose. And trust me, its like a societal cptsd culture where logic ceases to exist and there are no boundaries. I have 3 children Alhumdullillah. Half of my life with my husband naively disillusioned by the idealism of being open to grow together, nothing holding us back, only to be dragged back to a harsh reality of not being forgiving towards an emotionally mature partner, but forgiving is really allowing myself to accept disrespect and constant degrading and criticism from an emotionally stunted disregulated man who can't accept responsibility for anything and has truly created a complex of thinking he is more righteous by way of shaming others and being hypercritical and judgemental if others especially his wife openly. In doing so has undermined my authority and status as a mother with my children and created emotional damage in his family most concerning in his children. Really im just at the point of being fed up, but i want my rights as well and can't give up my children. Allah Alim La hawla walla quwata illa Billah Alalı alTheem.

Yes men married woman from other cultures but NEVER was it Sunnah for woman to marry outside of the religion. Quite the opposite it’s prohibited for Muslim woman to marry non Muslim men. That is the Sunnah, that is the Quran.

@zaidalamara692 in fact the prophet Muhammad, peace be upon Him, once stated that He felt closer to ALLAH when He associated Himself and was in the company of Aisha and would not tolerate any badness shown to Her by the other wives...once the jealous wives sent fathima to complain about Aisha to Him and His face darkened...He did not even answer immediately and when He did Fathima, His daughter, became very afraid and would never again be incited by the wives to talk about Aisha in any way... and SHRINES are clearly forbidden by ALLAH ... YOU OBEY ALLAH! YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO READ THE QURAN IF YOU DO NOT FOLLOW THE RULES OF ALLAH! IN ISLAM SHRINES ARE NOT ALLOWED AND YET YOU HAVE THEM HERE, THERE, AND EVERYWHERE... He gave all the references from Sunni books as to what Aisha was doing have a open mind and learn your b Hadith’s then you talk about it it is true that prophet’s family not wives were treated very bad by the people of that tine because of power they were so evil to Imam Ali and daughter of the prophet and his grand kids did you know Daughter of The prophet lost her unborn baby because of force of people entering her house look at the truth would you love family of prophet his blood or those who are his wives but creating trouble I cannot believe at all the thing you narrate about the daughter of the prophet Fatema obviously due to jealousy lots of things have gone wrong in our prophets blood relatives god is the witness of all this if you want to believe or not it is entirely upto you on the day of Qayama will see the truth
